A little out of our way, but well worth the time to get there. Not your average KOA; large sites and spacious campground. Great and friendly staff/owners eager to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Very big rig friendly; a Prevost pulling tri-axle trailer checked in after us. Would definitely stay here again due to office staff, although I felt it was a little on the expensive side.
This is a seasonal campground, not brig ig friendly. Big rigs would not be able to cross the bridge; they would drag. They advertise WI-FI, but it is non existent. We had to turn around in their garbage dump area to go back to our site. Extremely steep entrance; most units will drag entering campground. Waterfront sites are taken by seasonal units.
Easy on/off from interstate, no pull through available but owners took us to a secluded back in site. Little bit of an effort to get there but worth the time. Good electric, level site. Would stay again.
Totally disagree with previous reviews, written by locals who like to stay here to due cheap rates. They ask you when you check in to give this campground an excellent rating. Looking for more federal funds. LOTS of tenters, bathhouses were totally unacceptable, and no one is available to have the noise from tenters radios turned down. Definitely not an easy campground to get into. The locals have all of the full hook-up sites. Would never stay here again.
Was skeptical with liquor sales in office upon check-in. When led to our camp site through numerous seasonal areas we were afraid. Poorly manicured and hard to maneuver, not Big Rig friendly. Way off the beaten path.
LONG level pull-through sites, (90' in length). Excellent electric, table at every site. Super friendly owner, definitely engaged in his business. Trailer Life and other directories need to reassess this campground. Highly recommend, excellent overnight or weekend campground. Campground is very clean, enjoyed our stay. Good place to walk your pets.
Campground is showing it's age. Laundry was not as clean as has been in years before. Electric slowed down in afternoon when a/c units were all in use, electric monitor went into red area. There is NOT Wi-Fi available at each site. You must register with the office and take a "kit" that contains a modem back to your site that needs to be hooked into the cable connection. If you want Wi-Fi you have to go to the Meadow Trading Post. Modem and Wi-fi cost an additional $9.95 per day and you have to put down a $125.00 deposit for the modem kit. They also do not offer any discounts, read on the Good Sam website that they allow that discount, did not honor our discount upon check-in. Told us had to register that when making reservation which are not rules of Good Sam. Also no where on Ft. Wilderness reservation site to list Good Sam discount. We would stay again, atmosphere of Disney.
Previous reviews are very correct. There is an extremely narrow road getting to campground. Check in very difficult, took a long time and the staff could not tell us how to get to our site. When asked how to pull onto the pull thru site she told us hook-ups were on the "right" side, meaning "correct" side but she did not know how to get there. Wifi is non existent. The campground is full of old units, seasonal. We wish someone could explain why such good ratings in the directories. Other overnight campers had same opinion as us, and would never return. We locked the door and went to bed early but that did not work due to the constant trains going through the campground.
The price paid was with a Good Sam Discount, too much money for what we received. There is no shut off available on the electric box, which we feel is hard on our equipment. The water hydrant was bent halfway over and sites were very close together. This is an older campground in need of a huge makeover. It is full simply because it is close to Grand Ole Opry and minutes from downtown. Ok if necessary for an overnight stay, but we would not spend any length of time here.
Definitely no pull thru sites here. Paving job on roads is uneven and a mess. Sites are extremely tight, very, very difficult to back into. Loud, rowdy young crowd staying here, cars and motorcyles up and down the roads from site to site all night long. No rangers or campground hosts to be found anywhere. Campers complained about our dogs, they would not have barked if there had not been so much traffic up and down our circle all night long. 50 amp service extremely weak, our needle on monitor was on red entire time. Would not ever stay here again.
This is a beautiful campground with wonderful, extremely helpful and friendly owners. Sites are very large, easy to get onto. This park was closed for the season but since we made the drive they allowed us to spend the night which was well worth it. Wish we would have been able to spend a week here.
Not a dog friendly park. When we checked in we told them about our dogs. We called ahead to make sure our dogs were allowed. They went out of their way to watch us and make sure we were obeying all rules. They should have told us on the phone they didn't want the dogs. No picnic tables at site and not friendly about allowing you to move one to your site. Told us to use the shelter. Would not stay here again, no customer service.
