Yes! would stay here again for extended period. It may be that September is a great time for the area, but this campground is nice. Sites are a little narrow, but arranged so everyone has as much privacy as possible. Management is excellent, very helpful from check-in on through. Lots of shady sites, and many amenities (pool was closed). Store had good supplies, and propane is available (will deliver to site). Fishing just a walk across the campground.
This park was the 1st stop on our 1st adventure. After driving 600+ miles we were ready to set-up and rest. The campground sites were not very well marked (this seems to be standard for many KOA's). There were a few shady spots, but most sites were full sun. All sites are very narrow. The office was easily accessible, but the actual sites were up a steep hill. All sites seemed to not be level. We stayed here in September and in the evening vicious mosquitoes arrived! Would stay at this park again only if necessary.
We are staying here 4 nights. It is beautiful, very shady and lots of privacy. Hiking trails to river are well marked. Showers are pay. There is a laundry available. One downside is the train that travels close by 5+ times during the day and 2+ times at night. It is not enough to disturb your rest unless noises are a problem. My husband thinks it adds to the ambiance of the campground. Very restful. Town is close by for simple needs. There is one grocery store. Costco & Walmart are about an hour away. Would definitely return here for extended stay.
We arrived at this park after a 300+ mile drive. The office was nice. Again problems with site identification (i.e.; SS1 vs. S1) is a little confusing. We ended up in the wrong site and had to move. Lots of stickers in among the grass, goat-head stickers that are hard on animals. Our site was nice, all hook-ups easy, and pulled right out onto the road to leave. Easy in - easy out. The reason for the lower rating is the upkeep; seemed just a little shabby. Good for an overnight, keep going spot. Campground was full for the weekend due to the yearly Peach Festival.
