We found this park to be excellent. The majority of the sites are up in the tall pine trees, they are away from road noise and the location is great for the many parks in the area. This is a quiet park and the Wi-Fi really works throughout the campground, based on our cross country trip this is the exception not the rule. We would definitely come back to this park. We did a day trip to Custer State Park (bison, wild burrows) and then to Mount Rushmore and finished up with Crazy Horse. The downtown of Custer is very nice too.
We camped here for 5 days at the end of July 2012 and were very disappointed in the campground. We paid a premium for "lake front" spot and there is a chain fence keeping us from the lake? The spots are pretty quite tight, grass/weeds were not cut, water was brown if we hadn't used it for a little bit. This park is definitely in need of TLC and just not worth anywhere near what they are charging. The speed bumps in this park are hell.
