Another great KOA park! They were setting up Halloween decorations and tons of them! The managers were sooo nice and when we asked if we could use a fire pit from one of the unoccupied cabins, they said no problem! Again a super clean KOA park, great hosts and we would stay here again! One big perk for those of us with dogs, they have multiple "bark parks" scattered around the property, so you don't have to walk all over to get to one. The roads a smooth gravel and the sites are level.
Nice clean park. The sites are a bit on the tight side, but acceptable. The roads are all paved, super for walking our dog in her wheelchair and there are nice trails behind for walking our other dog! Everything looked very well maintained and we would certainly stay here again!
Nice super clean park! We had plenty of room for slides to open and a nice grass area with a picnic table. The park managers were very friendly, as were some of their helpers who were working on the grounds. We would stay here again!!
Do yourself a favor and just keep driving!! The previous reviews lead us to believe this park would be "OK" for a one night stay: it ranks right up there with one of the worst parks we have ever stayed. The first site they gave us had a run down motorhome with a full time resident, the yard was cluttered with junk and a pickup with a camper parked at the front, that was plugged into a 15amp plug and contained 3 Pit Bulls. Even if they were nice Pit Bulls, that is unacceptable living conditions for dogs. The manager was driving around the park in a golf cart with no shirt on, not a pretty sight. We moved sites next to another one night/passing through motorhome as far from the multitude of full timers and their junk as we could. The roads are dirt, normally we don't mind dirt, but in this case, if they get any worse, you will need a 4-wheel drive RV to get to your site. Then we had to drive over a semi-ripped out tree stump to get into our site. Looks like they started to remove it and just gave up. This place should NOT bear the KOA name! We normally stay at KOA if we can because of their standards and we've always found the parks acceptable and more often than not, very nice. But this park is a shame to the KOA name.
This campground is listed as I-24 campground, but is, in fact, miles off of I-24! The vast majority of the park are permanent residents, with lots of "stuff" surrounding their sites. Spent the evening listening to a domestic argument: very loud and very profane. We stayed here a few years ago and hoped it would be better this time. It's worse! The folks that run the campground are very nice, but maybe they need to screen their full time residents a bit better. Potholed roads, uneven parking, etc. We gave it two tries and will stay elsewhere next time! I hope the managers start to make some changes here, they are nice, but it's not worth the drive to stay here again.
This is a very nice campground. Sites are level, the place is spotless, and there is plenty of grass to walk your dogs. The hot tub is one of the best we have ever seen at any campground, and the staff is very friendly. They also have free laundry. All this for only $20 a night! If you are staying in Amarillo, don't stay anywhere else.
This is an incredible park. Nice level sites, and plenty of room on the level concrete pad for your vehicle. The uncrowded and dog friendly beach is just steps away from your site. Friendly staff along with a great clubhouse, make this an excellent park.
