The park is open. I stayed there and wrote a review in Feb 2007. I visited friends staying here in Feb and March 2012. Big grassy lots, concrete patios, nice rec room, many evening activities, stayed one month plus as a Winter Texan (cost $275.00 + electric at 0.14 cents per KWH). Walking distance (about 1/2 mile) to Walmart, HEB (grocery store), Post Office and several other stores. Surrounding neighborhood is a bit challenged, but found it to be very safe. Located at the entrance to the Corpus Christi Air Naval Station and you get the "sounds of freedom" (aircraft) at times (music to my ears). Several miles to the outer beach, fishing piers, and Padre Island National Sea Shore. I enjoyed the campground, mostly friendly retired folks spending the winter. I will probably return for a repeat performance.

Excellent park. Owners and work campers are a pleasure to be around. Stayed there in 2007 for a week and returned for a weeks stay this year. Wish I could of spent more time there. You will not be disappointed.

On your GPS enter the street as two words, ie Brown Castle, not Browncastle. The park is at 14 Brown Castle Road. Nicest restrooms I have ever seen. Dog walk around park with convenient do-do bags. Very quiet, nice views, close to town and Interstate 25. Stayed there twice in Jan and Feb, 2011. I will return.

I personally stayed in the park March of 2009 (wrote review in Nov 2009) and recommended this park to a friend who stayed here in March of 2010. (He does not have an account online and was not very impressed with the park. This is his review.) The Wi-Fi here is a joke. The laundry is way too small. A rattler was killed near the laundry. The on site breakfasts were great. They love to move you around to different sites. Has excessive charges for electricity. There are many activities in the clubhouse. It's a nice walk to and on the beach. Has a great shuttle into town. The hot tub and restrooms were excellent. Other campers were decently friendly. Final statement: This is an ok place, will most likely look for other facilities in the future.

OK place to stay, but nothing to write home about. Entire campground was gravel with no trees. Restroom was clean but small. Shower was tiny with no dressing area. Hot water full on was 107 degrees. Laundry was one washing machine and two driers, everything was in good condition. The central gaming region of town is about one mile away. The walk was within reason. People and management were nice. Right near public library with computers nearby (200 yards?). Roaming herd of burros (about 12) greeted me one morning on my walk downtown. Only a grocery store, gas station, and hardware store about two miles out of town on Teller County road #1.

Excellent park. Only negative is that they liked to move people around for no reason apparent to me. I had three different spots in two weeks and they were all of the generic back in's variety. I found some people seemed to be a little unfriendly, but I found out later that most of those have been here for many winters. They have made their friends already.

Management is friendly. In the same neighborhood (next door)as Marina Village RV Park. The neighborhood is challenged. I have stayed at both as a Winter Texan. Recreation room is on stilts so you can see the bay. Premium sites are pull thru, full concrete. Basic sites are grass. Operationally, I had no problems with any of their services. No train or road noise. Naval aircraft randomly fly over, this is not noise to me. Walking distance to a public fishing pier. I probably would stay there again.

Really enjoyed the town of Breckenridge. The town provided a shuttle to the campground. The campground is overpriced, and the only one around. Remember you are in tourist country! Overall, I just consider this campground as OK.

Restrooms rate 10+, the showers rate a 10+, laundry rate a 10+, park personnel rate a 10++. I stayed for a week, paid six for seven. Everything else could be rated well above average. Highly recommend! I will be back.
