We were only able to stay a week here and wished we could have stayed longer. The owners are very friendly and gave us lots of tips on places to visit and recommendations on restaurants. The campground, rec room (which is full of books and DVDs) and laundry room are SPOTLESS!!! There has been extra care taken in planting of trees, rose bushes and the buildings are very colorful and quaint. There are many hummingbirds and a hummingbird feeder was provided to us so we could enjoy the birds from our site. Very quiet and relaxing - saw a herd of elk early one morning!!! Park internet was good, VZ phone and internet also worked well.
We paid a monthly rate. Great view of Mt. Rainier. Park is terraced with 3 levels, gravel sites. Sites are large enough, but it basically an RV parking lot. The meter pole at the rear of the site is the site divider. Picture a line through the gravel. Managers and employees were helpful. Many rigs appear to be long-timers, but none we saw were trashy. There is some highway noise, not overwhelming. It's a 200 mile loop completely around Mt Rainier from here. Closest entrance is just past Ashford in the SW corner of RNP, about 40 miles from Rainier View.
Nightly cost reflects monthly rate. We enjoyed this park and area. Family owned, nice people. Pay your money at the Gift Shop, and choose your site. All sites paved. Pull- through sites farthest from the office are the longest, and are for short term stays. The sites gradually get shorter as you come back toward the office. Most people try to use every other site when parking, but there is always someone not paying attention. Sites are large enough with some one parked beside you, but very roomy with open sites on each side. If you have a dish, be sure to park in the farthest row from the Redwoods, you will need to aim over them. If you can move your dish around, you can find a hole in the huge trees. Probably. Park is surrounded by blackberry bushes. Yours to pick. Good, free internet: yours won't work here. Verizon network phones will work near the office, they have a repeater there.
Beautiful trees around the park, but no shade in the park. Overpriced: don't pay more than the Passport America 1/2 price. Pull- through space was an extra $5. Fire ring, an extra $5. It is all about your money here. Many sites are taken by local workers. Questionable quality water: be sure you have a filter. We won't stay here again.
Long, level, pull-through sites. Should accommodate any size RV. New park, laundry room near office is nearly finished. Helpful, hard-working owners. Shuttle to nearby Paducah Int'l Raceway. Quiet setting except for the once a week event at nearby race track.
Nice Park. We are 65 feet long, plenty of room. Sites along road may have some highway noise, but we were farther back in the park. Well stocked store, reasonable rates. We stayed a week, and will stay again. Several shady sites available.
We stayed in the lower part of the park. Sites are too close together. Close to I-90 and other roads, but not much traffic noise. No WIFI in this area of the park. Not enough room to park our T/V at the site, we had to park it at an empty site behind us. Many others did the same.
