We stayed for two nights in this spotless and very convenient RV park. The owners were very pleasant and helpful with ideas for dinner and the area in general. We plan to stay there again in the next few weeks. It's everything you could want: clean, quiet, friendly and well-appointed.
Whoever posted the last review of this park must have it confused with another park in West Yellowstone. We have stayed in this park many times and know for certain it has very large sites and is immaculate always, with paved wide streets, easy access to parking in the sites. It is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in during our many years of travel.
We stayed in this charming small park for one night. It was very nicely kept, with green grass and trees for shade. The new (2 years) owners have done a very nice job making it an attractive park. The sites are fairly well separated, as is the case with most older KOA's, but most have a nice piece of grass alongside your rig, and all have picnic tables. We will certainly stop here again.
We stay here often and found on our last stay in late June that the grass was in terrible, dry condition. It is usually green and pretty. On this stay, we find they are addressing the problem, and the park is looking better. This KOA has any number of choices for the type of site you want, and is very convenient to shopping of any sort. We feel better about staying again now that it's looking better.
We have stayed here many times and always enjoy it. Owners are warm, caring people who have a beautiful park. They have recently added a cellphone booster antenna, and we had Verizon service, although it was intermittent. Much better than no service for sure! We return each time we're in the area, and often extend our stay. Happy Hour is held in the main building and is always a fun way to meet your neighbors from all over the country. The facilities are always spotless, the gift shop to die for, and the park site on the Salmon River is quite lovely.
We stay here at least once a year and it keeps getting nicer. This is one of the prettiest parks we stay in and is maintained beautifully. Our only tiny complaint is that it is so expensive; but I guess you get what you pay for: for sure in this lovely place.
We have stayed here before, since it's close to family. It's a nice, clean park, with very narrow sites. We feel it's a bit overpriced and have one major gripe. MAJOR! This stay was in the park when they were, perhaps 1/8 full. With reservations, they put us right next door to another trailer when there were probably more than 100 empty sites available. In our row, we were the only two RV's. This has happened to us before, and we do not return to parks where this has happened. Please, owners, don't let the computer assign sites. Use some human interaction and some common sense! We won't stay at this park again.
We have stayed here many, many times and just really like this funky RV park. It's always spotless, the office folks are fun and accommodating, the trees are huge and provide wonderful shade in the summer, the pool is clean, and you can reserve just about any kind of site you desire: from tents to fancy sites with fire pits, concrete patios and swings, and everything in between. It's close to just about any shopping experience you want to have and is very quiet at night. The airport is not too far away, so there is some plane traffic; but not late at night and unobtrusive during the day. Our dog loves the pet areas which are always clean and grassy. The WiFi is free and cable TV has just about any channel you could want. All in all, it's one of our favorite stops in our 5 months of summer travel.
Nice ladies at front desk, quick check-in, we were led to our site, and the whole place is spotless. What else could we ask for? This is a typical Western U.S. campground, with gravel, nice trees, some lawn areas between sites, and is pet friendly. I'm using the laundry right now and all is in working order and clean. We are happy campers here and would recommend it.
Sometimes we wonder if people have got the wrong park when they do ratings on here. This park is very nice, with big shade trees, long pull-through sites, ample space between sites and gracious hosts. Full-time residents number perhaps 8, and all are tidy and quiet folks. It gets cold here in the winter, so, of course, they have some type of skirting and larger propane tanks. There is no sign of doggie do anywhere and the park is very well kept with a nice small store with supplies and gift items. We've been here 2 nights and would stay here again for sure.
Nice grassy sites and a well-kept park. Neighborhood views aren't great; but mountain views around the valley are nice. Only negative about this park is no Wi-Fi, and my air card (Verizon) did not work in the park (or anywhere else in Challis area). Facilities are older, but nice fooseball table and pool table in the recreation room and jungle gym/swing set for kids outside. We would stay again, but felt the $27 rate was high for no cable and no Wi-Fi.
Note that this park became affiliated with KOA in June, 2010. Although they are now KOA, they still honor the Good Sam Rate, but you need to request it. This is our second stay here, and this visit we were placed in a double back-in space (rigs back in from both directions, so the back of your trailer almost touches the back of the other one) which makes for very tight quarters! Our Space (#57) was very close to the main entrance of the park, so there was constant traffic, making for a lot of noise at all hours. This is a nice clean park, but the office staff is not well-organized and understaffed, so also be prepared for that. We'll probably look elsewhere on our next trip to Boise.
A great experience starting with most gracious hosts and a site with a wonderful view of the lake. This campground is well-planned, wonderfully clean and the price is certainly right. It was a nice change from a standard RV park-type environment and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again - for a longer time too. Rate reflects Golden Age discount.
This is a flower-filled, quiet, spotless park that's just far enough away from Gatlinburg to miss all the traffic and crowds. The owners are delightful people and fun to visit with. The ladies shower room is decorated with sunflowers and bright yellow walls, and immaculate. I used the laundry twice and was impressed with how clean it was and how reasonably priced. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
Why is it in a park that is only about 1/4 full that they park people in every site rather than leaving a site open between? This is a very nice, but overpriced park and we decided to splurge and stay here on the last day of our 3 week journey. Whoever is assigning spaces just put huge Class A motorhomes next to us on each side. The rest of the park is empty. We can't even see out our side windows. We won't stay here again for any reason!
If using your GPs, use Shorewood, Illinois for the town and this CG appears. There is a huge road construction project going on at the main road near this park, so it's a challenging drive. There is a card-entry gate and the host kept my PPA card until we returned the entry gate card; a bit irritating. This is a true campground with lots of amenities, but no cable TV, no WiFi at the sites, and the facilities are not convenient to your site. Need to drive to them. Our site was so near to the two freeways that noise was a real problem. Perhaps another site would be quieter. We'd probably not stay here again; but it is a pretty park.
This was apparently once a wonderful campground. It still could be with better maintenance of their facilities. The laundry was in need of serious cleanup; as was the ladies shower/restroom area. I used the laundry twice; complained about dirty conditions on the first visit and the same problems were still there on the 2nd; except they did get rid of most of the bugs in the windowsills. The pool area; while not open yet for the season, was in need of a whole lot of tidying up. It would have been a pleasant place to sit if the furniture out there was cleaned and arranged, even without using the pool. The price was right and we would probably stay here again since it's near Memphis; but I certainly wouldn't use the laundry and shower again without seeing vast improvements in their care.
Lovely, lovely campground! It's well-kept, quiet, scenic, what else could you want? We had a great, lakeside site (37) which took a bit of maneuvering to get into with our 37' rig, but we did it. Bathrooms were cleaned often and spotless. Campground personnel stopped by to visit and were very welcoming and friendly. We will make it a point to stay here again.
Lovely park - beautifully landscaped and maintained. This is a shady place and we loved hearing all the birds singing in the many trees. We had Site 12 which was near the office, and there were wonderful shower rooms which include a sink and a toilet. It is convenient to I-35W, and shopping is nearby. We would happily stay there again.
Beautiful, white sand dunes and a pretty sunset made our overnight stay at this State Park a pleasure. The bathrooms and showers were clean and very nice, and we enjoyed our experience there very much.
A mostly gravel parking lot style campground with old mobile homes which served as the office and shower facilities. The showers were clean but old and showed many repair jobs; but they worked. We were annoyed to have been quoted $12.50 as a PPA rate; and then charged an additional $4.00 for "utilities" for our one-night, 9 hour stay. We obviously did not need A/C and did not even use the sewer hookup; so $4.00 for one night is outrageous. They should quote $16.50 per night in the first place.
This is a lovely park. Well laid out and convenient to Temecula and the surrounding area. We found it very annoying however, that you have to request someone to unlock the sewer hookup and also that a refundable $10 deposit is required to use any of their facilities. If you do the deposit, you need to leave during business hours to get your refund. We did not use any of their facilities for this reason. We probably wouldn't stay here again.
This was a nice find for us - an RV Park in the middle of nowhere, Nevada. Located behind a nice big Shell Station and convenience store. Check-in was easy and friendly, the deli served decent food, the bathrooms were clean, the water and electric worked fine and the price was right. My aircard worked just fine and it was quiet at night. It's a perfect place for a stopover when traveling North and South on Hwy 93 in Nevada. It is what it is and we'll stay there again.
What a Great RV Park! Green, green grass, spotless facilities, and a lovely pool that our grandson enjoyed immensely. The laundry room was immaculate - with 7 or 8 washers and dryers all costing only $1/load. We stayed 4 days and we would have been happy to stay longer if our schedule had allowed. We'll be delighted to stay here again.
A spotless and pretty park very near the West Entrance to Glacier N.P. However, we found it a bit difficult to maneuver around in. The bathrooms, showers and laundry are at the bottom of the hill in the main building; and the dump station is awkward to try to use. We also didn't feel the roads in this park were very well marked. This being said; it's a nice park; it just had a few things we didn't care for.
It is a very nice park near the charming town of Ennis. We had a nice end site with great views of the mountains, a picnic table, nice green grass and level. This park looks to be fairly new and once the trees get bigger it will be even nicer. It features very clean facilities and a very nice owner. We'll stay here again.
This is our third visit to this pretty park. The people are very friendly; the views are magnificent; the whole place is spotless. What else could you ask for? It's five miles off Hwy 20 on a good paved road and it's so so quiet and peaceful. The laundry is well equipped and very clean as are all the facilities. There is lots of nice grass which is a nice bonus.
It is a nice, shady, clean KOA with many pull through sites. We like it's proximity to shopping and the fact that it's very quiet. We're not normally KOA fans; but this park is the exception. There is very friendly staff and we had a nice stay. We've stayed here before; and we will again.
This was our second visit to this Park. We were unhappy to learn that Passport America is not honored from December to late Spring, since it is their High Season. The front desk person was quite abrupt and we were tired; so paid up, shut up and left the next morning. It's an older park in an industrial neighborhood and is well maintained. We probably will stay elsewhere on our next visit to Las Cruces.
Our host came down the road and guided us into the campground and to our site. It was after dark and we were tired and appreciated the extra effort extended. We only stayed overnight, and it was very cold; but we think this would be a lovely place to stay in warmer weather. The owners are former RV'rs and designed the hookup locations and sites with our convenience in mind. We would certainly return.
Passport America has unlimited use in this park. We stayed here twice on our recent trip to Florida. Nice people work here. They were very helpful with sightseeing and shopping tips and had a nice dinner available both Fridays we stayed there. The laundry room was immaculate and good sized. The wifi worked great. On our second stay we were put in a very narrow site; but since it was just for overnight; that wasn't a problem. We would (and did) stay here again.
A nice park in the middle of nowhere Texas. About 1/2 way between El Paso and San Antonio. Very nice front desk personnel with a small store/gift shop. There is a small cafe attached, but we left before they were open the next morning. This park is well-maintained and far enough from I-10 to be pretty quiet. We would stay there again.
The rate reflects Louisiana allowing Golden Age Passport use in their State Parks. This Park is kind of shabby-looking and in need of some maintenance. There was trash on the ground at the rear of our site that had been there for a while. It was an okay place for a quick overnight stay; but we wouldn't probably return.
This is a well-maintained older park with many park models; but lots of sites for RV's also. They have a nice pool and two clean, updated and reasonably priced laundry rooms. We were put in a site at the very back of the park between two Park Models, so it was very quiet. This is a nice park and convenient to shopping and only a few miles from I-75. We had many conversations with nice people who winter there. The only downside was no cable TV unless you are staying at least 30 days.
Large grassy sites with tables and fire rings in a beautifully maintained campground - what else can you ask for? The paved roads made for good bike riding, the restrooms were immaculate and if there had been fewer mosquitoes; this would have been a perfect spot be sure to take repellent. No hookups, but many water spigots and a good dump station. Our rate reflects a Golden Age Passport and was quite a good deal for Southern Florida. The stars at night and the sunsets are worth the visit.
We spent our Christmas in this beautiful park. The leaves had shed and made a wonderful carpet in our campsite. We enjoyed riding our bicycles on the paved roadways and walking to the banks of the pretty Hillsborough River was a pleasure. The pool wasn't open, but is huge and the small store/cafe nearby were well-stocked. We enjoyed the quiet environment and would return again and again.
Nice grassy new park far enough away from I-75 to miss the noise and near enough to be handy. Very nice front desk people invited us to their New Years Eve party when we checked in. We enjoyed our short one night visit and would certainly stay here again.
This park, hands down, was the prettiest and best laid-out park we've ever stayed in. Gated entry, beautiful clubhouse, lawns, and the sites were roomy and came with a nice table. Good selection of cable channels and the free WiFi was strong. We stayed one night and will certainly return.
Previous postings are correct about pleasant management and constant updating of a fairly old park. They are doing the best they can to improve things. Our two complaints were very, very close sites and proximity to the very busy Hwy 101. We were unable to open our awning and barely able to open the 2 slides in our 35' Class A. Traffic on 101 is constant and made for a noisy stay, and difficult comings and goings in our toad.
We stayed here the first time, since it was handy and it was Passport America. We stayed the 2nd time because we liked it so well the first time. This park has friendly staff, immaculate facilities, pretty lawn and flowers and a great location. Our spaces both times were fairly near the highway, and we didn't notice road noise at all. We will stay here anytime we get to the area - it was a very nice experience.
We love this little park! Many sites back up to the Little Salmon River. All are spacious and there's lots of nice green grass throughout the Park. Owners are friendly and helpful and fun to talk to. There's a nice little store on site and the laundry and showers are immaculate. I am writing this via their free wifi service while we are staying here for 2 weeks. The area offers lots to do; or this park is so inviting; you can just relax and listen to the sounds of the river.
Nice RV park with adjacent 9-hole golf course, which my husband enjoyed. Very clean and well-kept park with all the amenities and very friendly people. Rate reflects Passport America which was extended to our 5 day stay from the standard 2 day restriction. We will stay here again.
This is a clean, parking lot-type RV park. All gravel; no trees or landscaping except on perimeter of park. Location is close to the beach and a very nice grassy park/ball field which our dog enjoyed. The spaces are roomy and the manager was very nice. Dinner at Dorns Restaurant is recommended! We'll probably try the State Park in Morro Bay next time. Didn't like all the gravel.
This is a beautiful, clean and friendly desert park. The landscaping is very pretty and the sites are private with blooming shrubs between. We were greeted and led to our site by a very nice couple, who registered us at the site. We will certainly stay there again.
