This is a beautiful campground, well laid out, easy access with paved roads and level gravel sites. Bathrooms and laundry facilities were clean. The grounds were well kept, grass mowed with nice flower beds. The only negative for some would be that the campground is just off the highway and subject to road noise. Our site was one of the closest to the highway and although I was not bothered by the noise of traffic, some campers might be. We would return again when in the area.

Our site was large and mostly wooded. There was no sewer or water hookup but water was available throughout the area. Roads were good, some dirt, some paved and sites were gravel. Sites were laid out in a way that made them very easy to back into. This was our first time in a State Park and would definitely return when we are in the area again. Bathrooms and showers were clean and adequate but old or I would have rated higher. With that said, there we no real negatives.

We camped here for 3 nights and this was our first time at this campground. Sites are spacious and mostly wooded. The campground was very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were old and small but clean and adequate. I would have rated this one higher but the I felt the bathrooms and showers were in need of a face lift. The price was fair for the facilities and unlike some other campgrounds in the area this one has not raised prices and cut site spaces in half. Colonial Woods is now a family favorite and we will definitely return.

Upon arrival at our site we found a water leak causing excess mud and soft ground. Another camper close by was actually stuck and sunk into the mud in their campsite. We found the staff and manager unconcerned about conditions and did nothing to stop the water leak that was causing the issues. We will not return.

We camped here for 2 nights and our site was large and well shaded. Management should consider cutting back some of the tree branches because they are low hanging in most areas. Our site was uneven but we were able to get level. Being self contained we did not use the bathrooms which was a good thing because all that was near us was port a johns. Overall this was a nice campground, family oriented and quiet considering it was full. We will definitely return to this campground.

We camped at Bear Run Campground over the July 4th holiday and had a great time. Overall the campground is very well maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The majority of the sites are for seasonal campers, and most are very well kept. Our site was one of the larger ones on the property but still smaller than we prefer. The camp store was well stocked, and prices were reasonable. We would definitely return again.

This campground has a lot of potential but desperately needs maintenance. We could not back into our site all the way because of low hanging electrical wires. One section of seasonal sites was well maintained, but many others were down right scary. The bathrooms need to be removed and replaced. We will not return.

This is one of our favorite family campgrounds. The property is well maintained, and the bathrooms and showers are cleaned on a regular basis. We return every year and always have a great time.
