It's a nice little private campground. Very well kept up, bathrooms are immaculate, owners require patio mats which breathe and don't kill the grass and so you have nice grassy clean sites. Sites are not extremely large but there are some that can accommodate almost any size rig. Not a lot of activities at the park ( playground, volleyball, pool) but a great place to take grandkids so they learn to "camp" the old fashioned way: without rides and extra's. There are a lot of seasonal sites but those are in a different area from the ones rented nightly or weekly. Owners do keep and eye on the goings on, which we appreciated.

South Higgins Lake State Park for many years has been one of our favorites. It has recently declined in appeal. The park can accommodate large rigs and many sites are very spacious. There are a lot of shady sites if the weather is hot. Most any size RV can be accommodated but check the site description to make sure your getting the size you need because they vary considerably in size. A very popular park so reservations are a must here. Boating, jet ski's and the beach are the strongest points in the park. Our experiences have been over many years and the park has changed. Swimmers Itch is prevalent every year making it miserable for both the children and their parents. The staff is friendly but unable to handle large summer crowds that get out of hand easily. We've decided to move on due to the problems we've encountered over the past several years. This was our favorite park for over 15 years for our family camp out.

We found the campground Pleasant. It was one of the quietest state parks we have ever visited. Pets were present but none were unruly as in some parks. The campsites are mostly sandy and that sand is very dirty. The asphalt pads are nice but, at 10 foot wide, your picnic table neither fits on the pad or else is not under your awning. Lots of pull through sites. Channel campground loop 1 was our favorite. Channel campground had a lot of rigs. Our stay was pleasant. Not the best ever but not bad either.
