This was our second year staying at this park with extended family. We were in Site 41, a pull through and family members were in cabins right across the street. Park is very well maintained and clean. Staff is very friendly. The pool is very clean and well maintained. They have a lake for fishing, but due to the lake of rain VA has received this year, the lake was quite low. There were quite a few bees, think someone called them sugar bees. They don't bother you unless you swat at them and hit them or step on them. Management came around and sprayed ground for bees. Did help some. With lack of rain and heat, not surprised to see the bees. Management very friendly. Learned the names of all 4 children and would great each of the children when they saw them. My youngest got stung on the foot by a bee. The store had a first aid kit and applied bee sting stuff to his foot. He went from crying to smiling in less then a minute. The campground does offer Wi-Fi for free, but the signal strength is poor. Even close to the office. The store does have a computer that is available for guest use. Campground is close to I-95 and RT 1. There are plenty of shopping areas near the campground. We will return again next year for our annual family campout.
Very nice campground located close to I-64 and Charlottesville. We arrived Friday evening and was put in a pull through site located in section directly across from the store. Sites are a little close together but still have room. The back in sites across the road near the field looked nice and had plenty of room. Campground well kept and clean. Staff was very friendly. Hosted a bunch of activities on Saturdays. Good size pool and kept clean. Playground area very nice. Not sure if its new or not, but it is not listed on the website or their map, they have a fenced in dog run area. Good size dog run with benches to sit at. They provide doggie bags through out the campground to pick up pet waste. Everyone was very friendly. Campground has two sections, we were located in the lower section. The top section is up a long steep road. If you don't want to move your car while here and are camping up top, you can either hike down the stairs, or the road, or have a golf cart. Top area of campground looked nice but would not want to camp up there with kids. Will return to this park.
Very nice campground. We picked a pull through site in the back of the campground. Noticed a lot of tents and pop ups in the pull through sites in the front section, though they ask people to only use them if you have a larger trailer. Playground was nice, restrooms were very clean. The highlight of the campground was the water park for the kids. Very clean and staff was very attentive. Nice spray park and smaller area for the younger ones. Two pools: one 3 foot deep and one 5 foot deep plus a kiddie pool. Staff through out the park very pleasant. If you plan to go to the water park, get here early. Not a lot of chairs and they go fast.
Just got back from staying at this campground this past weekend. Very nice, family owned campground. The staff in the store are very friendly. Campground does require a $10 deposit if you would like a key card. You do not need one if you will not be going out after the store closes. You do get the deposit back at the end of the stay. Sites are a good size and level with a brick patio. Very nice playground area, pool very clean. Not a lot of campers this weekend so park was quiet. The kids enjoyed fishing in the catfish pond and caught a 7 sunfish and a trout. You do have to pay to fish in the pond, but you will catch fish. They also have 2 catch and release ponds. Sunday they hosted a pancake breakfast for Father's Day. Very nice and organized. Make sure if you did get a key card to not leave until 10am when the store is open to get your deposit back. Looking forward to returning to this campground later this summer.
