The campground was very nice. The pull through sites were not as level as they could be, but workable. Some of the sites are smaller than others but all have plenty of space for 4-6 people. The power was excellent but water pressure was on the low side. The campground is close to the casino and other Wisconsin Dells sites. We were here over the 4th of July. The rate reflect a Good Sam discount. We would stay here again
We RV'd here on Memorial Day weekend. The resort's overnight full hook-up sites were full and the tents sites about half. There are seasonal sites, most look well cared for. Some appear to not have been opened up yet. The main building includes check in, a well stock store, and a full service restaurant & bar. The food & service was excellent. There are several pull-through sites all the rest are back in. The sites are deep and will fit the longest of units and allow for a vehicle in front. Not many trees but that allows for great satellite reception. There six waterside sites, they are not actually on the Wisconsin River but on shallow, muddy slew. We will camp her again.
Of the two campgrounds in the Bardstown area this one is the better of the two. As the other reviews have said the roads are rough and many of the sites are narrow and unlevel. However the 2.5 miles outside of town and the distance of the sites from the road help make it better. Plus all of the sites have 50 amp service, sewer and good to high water pressure. Campfires are allowed only on the gravel areas, there are no fire rings. Bring your own firewood, the campground does not have wood for sale! We will stay here again when in the area.
This is the only campground in Galena which makes it a good base for exploring but also allows the owners to defer upgrades. Most of the full hook up sites are along the main road. All of the sites are tight and trees make using an awning a challenge. The full hook up sites have the most trees and the least amount of grass. The swimming pool looked clean, but since they allow the public to use it for a fee it was packed every day. There were lots of water only and tent sites that looked good for group camping.
A very nice campground! Grounds & sites are well kept. Most of the full hook up sites are spaced very close together, some with a steep grade front to back which made it difficult to hook & unhook. The two bathhouses were very impressive. Ultra clean and modern, best we have seen. In the middle of the park the sites back up to a wide common areas that makes it nice for lawn games and large campfires. The WiFi did not work and the main desk staff had no clue why. We will camp here again even with the high nightly rate.
This campground is about 5 miles from the Wisconsin Dells right along a very active train line. Although the trains come through every hour or so, after awhile you forget about them until the 12:05 am one! While they say they have sewer, water, electric sites, there are only three available, all the rest are seasonal. So all the rest have to use the dump station for an extra $5.00. Why they don't build the $5 into the daily rate is confusing. Also, they charge $10 for vistors, all vistors, large & small. This campground has had the current owner for 9 years. There have been a couple of improvments made, such as a very nice swimming pool and beverage center (bar) and the paving of the main circle drive. The trees along the main circle have not been trimmed and dragged along the roof and the sides of our motorhome all the way around, I was told that they are going to trim them soon. More work is needed in the bath house. The showers have great pressure and lots of hot water but are old and grimy. Floor is bare concrete and uneven. Sites are all on grass covered stones. We stayed on Memorial Day weekend, the week leading up to it, this area had quite a bit of rain and our sites and most others were soft and muddy. Lots of trees so if you have a satellite you may have to work to get a good signal. We will not go back since there are lots of other campgrounds in the area.
This campground was recently purchased by the current owners. They have invested in upgrading every part of the park. There is new electrical service including 50 amps at many sites. Lots of shady sites. Bathrooms & showers are brand new and very, very clean! The sites are level, & there are many different size sites. They offer group sites for both tents & RVs. Owners are very friendly!
Large park with lots of sites, many with sewer. Some shade but not much. We were here for one night and were located in a wide open area, very hot in the afternoon sun! Sites are all grass which could cause problems if wet. If we stayed here again a shaded site would be a must. Easy in & out. Staff was very friendly and the pool area looked very clean.
Campground has mostly pull-through sites which are pretty close together. Most sites have a mix of sand & grass with gravel pads. Lots of tall pine trees provide a good amount of shade. The big rig sites have no shade. Two pools, one staffed w/lifeguard, other for older kids & adults. There is a huge covered picnic building that would be perfect for a large group. Campground has some rough edges but check-in staff was friendly.
