Stayed here several times in the past. Very clean park with nice folks running it. This is mostly an adult park since there are no activities for young children. There is, however, bingo a few nights a week as well as entertainment (usually country/bluegrass) on Friday evenings. They keep this place very clean and the "visitors" here respect that. If you are bringing children, you will have to travel outside the park to locations in an around Maggie Valley which is an easy drive from the campground.

Nice level, spacious, gravel sites. Park is on a slight slope which makes for stadium-style parking of the units. Sites are also staggered so you are not DIRECTLY next to your neighbor. The spaces are long which gives you plenty of room to park you car or toad. Very clean park. Bathrooms and laundry areas are spotless! No charge to use the washers and dryers but there is an "Honor Box" for donations so don't be a cheapskate: DONATE! Easy check-in and and hosts are most accommodating. No shade, but, hey, you're in the mountains and the countryside is beautiful so suck it up. The town of Galax is a neat, "old-timer" town complete with farmers market, antique and gift shops. Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty and no service with our AT&T cell phone, but if you have a phone calling card, you can use the one in the office. Some of the sites back up to a 9 hole, par 3 golf course belonging to the adjacent campground, but for the week we were there, did not see a single sole using it so that makes these sites very private. Would highly recommend this park if you are staying in the area. Geared mostly for adults, this is a good destination place to pull in, kick back and enjoy the peaceful setting and stay a bit. Would we return? YOU BETCHA!

The previous review was right-on. Nice place to stop and visit this quaint little town for a little R & R. The only drawback we had was there was no AT&T cell service. There was some kind of service since we did see people walking around using cell phones. Nice folks running this campground, and it was fun to sit by the creek and watch the fish and ducks. Couldn't get much more relaxing than this. No bathrooms or laundry facilities. Virginia Creeper trail is right there and bike rentals are plentiful if you so choose to ride the Trail. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

We had a premium/patio site with a concrete patio, fire chimney, glider, wrought iron table and chairs and lamp post. Extremely personable and accommodating front desk workers. Beautiful lake for fishing or boating. Plenty to do in the New Bern area. The downtown historic district shouldn't be missed. This is a wonderful destination spot where one can easily spend several days enjoying the area. Downtown is Tryon Palace and the newly opened (October 2010) History Center which is a must see. The painted bears and fire hydrants are special to this place. You just gotta go, it's a wonderful place. You won't be disappointed.

A good sized park with spacious sites. I must disagree with the previous comment about the sites being on the small side. We found them extremely spacious and were able to park our truck directly in front of our fifth wheel without any problem. This is a very convenient stop if traveling on I-95 but that also brings the noise level up a notch. This is not a destination stop as there is not much to see in the area other than the Premium Outlets. We liked the staggered sites because you are not directly along side of your neighbor. Every morning they have complimentary waffles and coffee to get you going. A good, clean overnight stop.

Good gravel level sites. Can accommodate any size unit. Picturesque stream runs alongside some of the sites and are very shady. If you don't get creekside, chances are you will not have much shade but if that is not an issue with you then this is a great campground. It appears to be mostly adults which suits us just fine and makes for a very pleasant, quiet stay. Will we return? "You bet'cha."

Great park just west of Waynesville. Quiet, clean and friendly. Owners take great pride in keeping the park clean. Keep in mind this is a mountain campground so the spaces may not be as generous as in the flatlands but still very accessible, private and peaceful. The temperature at the time we were here was pushing the mid 90's but being in the mountains, it was quite comfortable with plenty of shade. We will most definitely stay here again. Just can't beat being in the mountains and this is the place to be.

Very clean, friendly park. Nice size spaces. Shady spots are at a premium and there are none around the lake, but all in all a great place to stay even for a long period of time. We were here when the temperatures were hovering around the mid 90's so no place would have been comfortable. Only downside was no air conditioning in the bathhouse and at 90+ degrees, it was HOT. If visiting the area again,we will most definitely stay here again.

Stay away from this one. Good Sam dropped the ball on rating this park. We were to stay for three days, but left after spending two smelly evenings. No toilet paper, no paper towels in bathroom. Had a hand dryer, but this didn't work either. A creek ran through a section of the park and it smelled like an open sewer. Bad, bad, bad.

This park is very close to I-95. The best description is trains, planes, and automobiles, or, in this case diesel trucks. The noise level is very high but the place is friendly and very clean. It is mostly a stop-over for folks trekking up and down I-95. Kids would enjoy the lake with lots of water fowl to feed. Would we stop there again? Yes, but one night without a good nights sleep is enough. Clean, clean, clean. Give it a shot.

If you are staying in the Ocala, Florida area, this is the place you want to stay. It is off route 27 and just a short 20 minute drive into center city Ocala. Excellent paved roads and pads. Lots of shade trees or if you like being in the sun, they have those also. This place is spotless and the owners take great pride in caring for the people that stay here as well as the up-keep of the surroundings. This is a great long-stay place as well. Many folks from Minnesota, Michigan, etc. Club house is as nice if not nicer than most Country Clubs. Organized activities, movies, pot luck dinners, pool, coffee club in a.m., and many others to keep you busy. Have fun. You will really be able to relax and enjoy your stay: we did!
