This was our only choice in campgrounds. It was the weekend and our trip was last minute. Just a big weed filled field with full hookups. The camp hostess was nice enough, just very stern. She takes her role very seriously! Convenient location, close to town and needed services. Only 2 complaints. The 50 amp power was poor. I kept blowing the circuit breaker and was only pulling about 35 amps. Also, when I made my reservation they didn't tell me the office was closed on Saturday so when I tried to extend my stay on a Saturday morning I had to pay $30 instead of $23. The camp hostess wanted cash that day. An OK place for a few days. I would stay again if the need came up.
An excellent RV park in the heart of Newport Beach. Excellent staff with a secure entry gate. Sites are spacious and level. Very clean with a beach and walkway. Lots of activities and convenient to Newport and Balboa Island. We love this park and will return next winter. The rate we paid was based on the monthly rate and did not include electricity. We paid around $1700 for a month total. The rates go up substantially in the summer.
This is a small but excellent park. The management is both friendly and helpful. A joy to deal with. The sites are close together but well worth the effort. Clear Creek has a great walking path with easy access to downtown Golden. The park is busy and tough to get into but you will like it once you do. All facilities are clean and well-maintained. We will stay here often!
The only thing this this campground has going for it is location. It is very convenient to Golden and to I-70. The negatives are many starting with the extremely rude and unprofessional staff. In all of our travels we have never encountered a group like this. We were treated like 2nd class citizens. From check-in to check-out we were treated as if they were doing us a favor. Also, the rate they quote over the phone is very misleading. They charge extra for everything. I questioned the pet charge and was told I was welcome to leave. The sites are OK, and the place is clean. There is no cable TV, and the wi-fi is spotty at best. The pet area is a joke. One staff member told me that if they saw me not cleaning up after my dog, they would fine me $25. I hadn't even taken him out yet! All in all, a terrible choice for more than a one night stop over. I asked for the owner's number and was refused. I heard later that he was just as rude, so it probably would have done no good to complain. We moved from this place to another park. Avoid Dakota Ridge if possible.
As other reviewers have stated, management and staff have absolutely no customer service skills. In all of my travels, this is by far the rudest I have encountered. Surly attitudes and constant patrols to look for rule breakers are the norm. We even got a parking ticket when they found my truck tire touching the main drive and not all the way in my site. One of their staff drove their patrol golf cart through my site directly over my rug. Later when I confronted him, he flatly denied it to my face. The manager never returned my phone call. I was in a pull through spot and could literally touch the coach beside me while standing on my steps. Every available space has been used to cram in as many RVs as a possible. We planned on staying 2 weeks but left after 1. We would have left sooner but, as were rudely told, NO REFUNDS! The ocean view is phenomenal and worth it, if you can stand the overbearing staff.
A very nice park with a friendly and helpful staff. This park is very busy and they tend to move people around a lot to accommodate various RVers needs. Many drive through sites and big rigs are easily handled. WI-FI is spotty, but the cable worked great. Very nice pool, and coffee and donuts in the morning. Close to the casino and a short drive to shopping and movies. We have already made our reservation for next winter. Caution: there are no shade trees so it will be very hot as the Phoenix weather changes in late spring.
This is a very nice park with a great location. The beach is an easy walk through the dunes. The sites are well separated but parking a tow vehicle is a challenge. The park is kid friendly and the kids there seemed to love it. The staff is friendly for the most part. The park allows pets but twice I was yelled at for my dog going in the gravel on the way to the street outside the park. This is where they they want you to take them. I guess I need to carry my 80 pound dog to stop him from going too soon. Each site has a fire pit, but ours was so rusted it could not be used. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
