What a nice surprise! We came here for a week to escape the heat of the Phoenix area, and were met with extremely friendly staff. We parked at a "valley view" site, but there was too much afternoon sun for my wife, so we requested a site change. That request was cheerfully and immediately honored. The sites are cleaned and the gravel raked after each guest. The office has free (and great) coffee each day. They tell you about things to do in the area, and provide maps of such. The laundry and gym are clean and adequate. The nearby casino has a bowling alley and great inexpensive food. It's just a hop, skip and a jump from here to Sedona, Jerome, and Prescott. We asked to move to a pull-through site our last night, as we had to leave early the next day and did not want to disturb any other guests by backing up so early. They cheerfully honored this request. We were very impressed and would definitely stay here again!
I don't know who gave this park such high reviews, but we had a very different experience. We tried to get reservations a couple days before the park opened, and it was like pulling teeth to get ahold of anyone. When we arrived, we were parked on dusty red gravel, which blew constantly, and left our rig, dogs, and shoes filthy everytime we went outside. The first day, as my wife sat at the computer inside our rig, a tractor, that was setting picnic tables at the sites, pulled up outside our front window, where the driver peered inside, and beckoned my wife outside with the crook of his finger. She came and got me, after being startled by this. When I went outside, I was told to move our toad so that the picnic table could be set up at our site. Why wasn't the campground prepared prior to the first day of opening? And is that the proper way to get the attention of a guest? The campground has tons of rules, which can be a good thing, but not here. One of the rules stated that we couldn't use a ladder or step stool at our rig, as we might sue the campground if we were injured. Our rear view camera was intermittent, so that rule was not complied with! There are no facilities to speak of, and you are instructed not to walk your dog outside the confines of the campground. The hosts were not friendly, and we thought the park very overpriced. We will not stay here again under any circumstances.
