We were in the Louisville area to visit our families and this park is the most convenient to where they live. On the positive side, the sites are level, hookups worked well, and the price is very reasonable. On the negative, the sites are very narrow. With rigs on both sides of us we could not put out our awning and sit outside. The biggest issue is one of the owners, Grandpa! He is very obnoxious and rude. Since this is our first RV, our families wanted to visit to see our rig. We were very quiet and inside. One afternoon, we had 5 visitors inside the rig which we paid for and had checked in. We were not trying to sneak them in. Grandpa was not happy when signing them in but we promised to be quiet and not disturb anyone. After an hour, he came an knocked on the door and chased our guests out (My 92 year old mother in law!). I was embarrassed. He said, "We don't allow no parties!" Grandpa does not care about customer service and is very rude. On the other hand, when his son was there he was helpful and courteous and always asked if we needed anything. We did not have a pet, but the signs warning about all the pet rules are over the top with frequent warnings about eviction.
Lovely state park! We stayed in site 071 which was spacious, long enough for our rig and toad, and fairly level. Our site had gravel pad and gravel area with picnic table and fire ring. There are a wide variety of sites and many would not be appropriate for our rig because of too small or not level. As long as you review site parameters, it is a great park. We were only passing through so did not use many of the facilities. Lovely lake, fishing and boating (canoes, small boats with electric motors), hiking, etc. If you reserved online, just go straight to your site. The park office only has limited staffing. Dump site was very convenient as we exited and clean. Water available in numerous spots throughout campground but no hookups at each site. Will definitely return at some point!
Lovely state park! The campsites are well spaced and the one we had was long enough for our rig and toad. It was also pretty level. We stayed in site 37 and had a wooded area behind us. We only stayed one night as we were passing through, but we will go back at some point for a longer stay. The park has lots of outdoor activities. We stayed mid-week and the campground was only about one fourth full. We were told that it was full the previous weekend which was a holiday weekend.
