Park has had little maintenance since we looked at it a year ago. Planned to stay with a group for six days. Staff a bit unfriendly to customers. Fire caused the park to close in the middle of our stay. Rather than deal with irate RV'ers about a refund, they locked up and left. They abandoned their customers to the threat of an approaching forest fire.
We have stayed here about a dozen times over the past 5 years (family in the area). It is the best park in the area. That said, it is going downhill. We last stayed here in June 2012 and now (October 2012) the park is noticeably less maintained, less clean, and less appealing. It looks like a change in ownership / management with no one really taking care of things. Trash containers without lids, debris in the park, etc. We really did like this park and have rated it highly in the past. I really hate to see it go downhill.
This is a favorite park for us. I have never seen a mountain and forested RV park kept as clean and neat as this is. Owner(s) are retired law enforcement and offers a discount for public safety people, active or retired. I highly recommend you try them. Our stay is always great.
Not pet friendly (as is Moab, UT, frankly). Not one blade of grass in the whole park; staff moves at a snail pace, groundskeepers spend a good deal of time hiding under trees in their golf carts. Bad experience for us, will never be back.
The park is beautiful, the staff overall very friendly and helpful, the features extraordinary, and we checked out early because our trip was ruined. The park has a huge, repeat, HUGE issue with ants. The ants invaded our coach and drove us out!. They sprayed twice, we spread Borax, we did everything and nothing helped. The management KNOWS they have a problem and tells you nothing about it at check in. I wondered why there were white outlines (Borax) around where an RV tires and jacks would touch the ground, and now I know why. Oh, by the way, if you have any hearing, you will not sleep too much since there are endless trains going by about 1/4 mile away, and I-10 is just as close. We have RV'ed everywhere and never had a problem like this. Shame really, very, very nice park ruined by insects.
Very pet UNfriendly. Seems they have had some bad experiences with RV'ers with pets and as a result, do not want you to camp here if you have a pet. Only a desert field as a "pet run". WiFi only works in a hot spot, and there only poorly. What grass is here, is is not mowed. Facilities are in need of repair. Owner is friendly enough but, I suggest the KOA instead.
Check in staff member not friendly, and acted as if I was interrupting her reading. No pet facilities. No grass for pet area, anywhere. If you travel with pets, go somewhere else. Not a good experience. Oh, the Wi-Fi is "pay by the minute."
