This park has several spacious full hookup sites with plenty of shade and a few that are tucked away in the trees with a lot of privacy but the best spots for seclusion are electric only with water fountains/spigot close by. Water fill and sewer dump are at the entrance to the campground with very wide pull through areas with plenty of room to do a 180. We absolutely loved this place and it allowed that tent camping vibe even in our 34' trailer. Quiet as a tombstone and with close to 200 spaces, it's easy to show up late and still get a great spot. Park staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the restrooms/showers were very well kept and clean. There is no swimming pool or playground in the official campgrounds area but there is a playground in one of the large picnic areas. There are 6 long trails for nature hikes. Several miles back in the park there is a very nice boat ramp with picnic area and two piers overlooking the Ohio river. This is a huge well kept state park with wide paved lanes everywhere you go. If you enjoy privacy with well groomed, level sites and clean facilities close to the Interstate this is a great state park!

Very clean and well kept. The tent camping sites are tucked away in the woods and very private. I highly recommend for tent camping. The horse camping area is all pull-through spots with water and electric and shade trees on each space with a fire ring. The whole grounds are fairly flat and level making walking or biking around the block a lot easier. If you want a challenge there are loads of trails, some that go directly to the lake. The standard RV spots are medium/large size and mostly typical back in with shade behind you. Not a one isn't level. We got lucky and were able to stay in one of the horse camping spots. If it rains, they don't allow horses for several days and open these larger spaces up to RVs and tents. They are off to themselves in the back of the campground and offer a more secluded feeling. Gravel and very level, all of them. There is a nice modern playground easily accessible from most anywhere in the park. The restrooms are maintained regularly and very clean. The boat ramp is just down the lane. This is close to Bourbon country and the KY Bourbon Trail with loads of distilleries to tour within 45-60 minutes. Great, clean park. If this place had a pool and more spaces it would be an easy 9.5 - 10.

We were able to get a spot with a lake view close to the boat ramp. Slideout/awning friendly level sites are few and far between in the lower section by the lake, however. Water and electric are spaced apart from each other and we had to choose which one as our 50' water hose was not enough. Very hilly (not bicycle friendly) but that's to be expected so close to a lake. The restrooms were clean but dingy. We had no problem getting our 34' trailer around the grounds. No pool and no playground (that we could find anyway.) Hardly a flat area to throw ball or Frisbee even. It was not awful but we will not return. not what I was expecting for a state owned park. Disappointed.
