We were nervous about staying here after reading the previous reviews, and our check-in/reservation experience didn't settle our concerns. Even though we had confirmed our reservation several times, including the morning of our arrival, they messed up the reservation. The people at the resort blamed the people, management, in New York, and the people in New York blamed the people at the resort. If it wasn't for the messed up reservation we would rate this place higher. They have some deferred maintenance that needs to be dealt with and the people need an attitude adjustment. But if you put all of that aside the location is great, the sites are decent size and grass, the Tiki bar, and their staff was great. We (2 couples) camped in 2 motorhomes.
Park is in a great location, if you like to bike and walk on the beach. Golf, and tennis (clay courts) are near by and are reasonably priced. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The park, in fact the whole island, is owned by the State of Georgia and could use some tlc. Over the air tv antenna worked well. Would definitely stay here again. Camped in a motorhome
We dry camped, because there were no hookup sites available, here for 3 nights while visiting the Miami area. The full hook up sites are very popular for snowbirds, and seem to be reserved quite a long time in advance. The dry camping area is a very large and grassy, that is bordered by trees. Would stay here again for a few nights if visiting the area or passing thru. Camped in a motorhome.
This is a very convenient park to central Key West, however it is in a sketchy park of town. We were told by the staff not to walk outside the gates alone at night. Some sites are a comfortable size, unfortunately ours was not. The street and sites are some of the narrowest we've ever been in. Our site, #150, was next to the activities pavilion which didn't lend to much peace and quiet. Would not stay here again.
