Enjoyed the campground and will return next year. Spent 2 weeks at this campground on a lot overlooking the river which resulted in a lot of entertainment. Difficult entrance way and exit for a 40ft 5th wheel and the lack of a sewer hookup was a problem. Low hanging power lines is trouble for a big rig and we had to have a spotter walking beside the rig to make sure we could clear them with only a couple of inches to spare.
Very nice small campground. The owners are great and bend over backwards to be helpful. Stayed a full month and hope to be back next summer. Trash is picked up daily and the grounds are kept very clean. Lack of Wi-Fi is the only reason I don't score them higher. They are expanding the park with more lots which they need as this park is very popular.
Very disappointing park. The rules are there only to say that rules exist in the park but are not enforced. People cut through your campsite at all hours, radios playing until 1am. This is a party park and not a good park for rest and relaxation. Dead opossum in the restrooms did it for us as well as the overflowing dumpsters and playground equipment with beer bottles strewn around the playground. A fine example of a campground that COULD be good as it is a beautiful area, but is poorly run.
Too many parks use the term "resort" in their advertising and this place does not resemble this term in the least! Cell Phone reception is non-existent. Wi-Fi is at the office only if you can find a place to sit down to use it. Office is in total disarray, showers and bathrooms were dirty. Roads leading to this park are NOT for motorhomes unless you have nerves of steel. Their website is a fanciful view of what they would like it to be, not what it is. We were lead to a grass site where our unit began sinking and more rain on the way, so we left ASAP before having to be pulled out. Very disappointed and feel their website is borderline on false advertising.
Came back after a month on the road. Great staff and small campground, but very friendly. The view of the river is excellent and this is a prime get-away campground. Location is far away from road noise and plenty of wildlife in the area. If you are a bird watcher, you will love this place.
Returned after 9 months away. Great campground and constantly improving from last year's visit. Staff is top notch and addresses problems immediately If you notify them of an issue. These people step up to create a very nice, quiet area with many things to do if you wish to participate. The island is a big draw for fishing and bird watching. A hiking trail is a nice touch. Park security watch has been added since last year and that helps control non-guest visitors. Will keep coming back here yearly.
Very poor weather conditions forced us to pull in for one night. The manager seemed indifferent to our stay. The ground was very soft and muddy. The handle on the water tap was broken off. The area is full of scrap metal and old shacks. I do not advise stopping here.
Nice park, close to the casino. Stayed 2 nights. The spaces were fairly large and the place was well kept. Close to the railroad and the train traffic was annoying at night. Nice place to stay for gambling, but not longer than a day or two. Lack of WiFi is a thumbs down,
Secluded area, very nice and wonderful staff. Bit of a drive to get to activities in Gulf Shores. Owners are very personable and nice place to get away from the cold. Not a large campground, but the people are very friendly and helpful.
Outstanding!!! The new owners of the campground have done a great job and trying to improve from former management's apparent lack of ambition. We spent 2 months there and would return tomorrow if possible. The river is scenic, plenty of activities for people who wish to be social. If something is not working, they take care of it immediately. The staff there is top rate and very generous with their time. Would love to stay but forced to return to Ohio. Will be back next January to this campground.
