We stayed here for one of their Halloween weekends. It was approx $95 for the weekend for a full hookup. They have a very liberal dog policy which is great for us. You do not have to pay for a dog and everyone cleaned up after their pet. The playground equip was nice, and they had new movies for the kids in the lodge, and the store was well stocked. The weekend we were there they were packed so the service was a bit slow. All the campers observed quiet time. Every person at this place had a golf cart. The one thing I didn't like was that they charged for the activities. Craft-$3.00 per kid etc. I think that kind of stuff should be included. overall nice place.
We stayed here Halloween weekend and used this as a base for Hershey Park. It is about a 30 minute drive to Hershey. It rained heavy when we were there and the campground has very good drainage. No mud puddles. We used the mini golf course which was nice for kids. Campground was quiet at night. Nice recreation hall with cartoons for the kids, fireplace, plenty of puzzles and board games. Overall a nice place to stay, we would go back.
This place was great! It is under new ownership and you can tell they really care about making improvements. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and very modern. It is not often you see the shower walls tiled. There was plenty of privacy between sites. There was a nice modern playground that looked new, a mini golf course that was nicely maintained, horshoe pits and an open field with a baseball diamond. The seasonals had their usual tacky chachkies, but were not an eyesore. The camp store was nicely stocked. They have a grill menu and will deliver your order to your site. They had planned activities for the kids. The new owners are very personable and accommodating. We will definitely be back.
We stayed here for one night in summer 2005. At the time we had a pop up and our site was near the pool. There was another pop up right behind us and by the time I pulled out the beds, I was about 3 feet from the other pop ups bed. This park was full of kids, mostly teens. I had my two boys with me. The teens were running around like maniacs screaming until well after quiet hours. They had to make several announcements over the loud speaker for everyone to return to their campsites. They did have a nice area with water guns for the kids to play and a big arcade. Maybe we just went on a bad night, but this park was loud. The full hook up sites look bigger and even though I don't need it, if I go back I will try those sites.
This park is great for visiting Washington DC. The sites are spacious. There is a nice fishing pier and plenty of trails for hiking. Mason Neck state park is only a few miles away. The Springfield-Franconia Metro station is the closest, however I-95 is a nightmare before 9am. If you travel during rush hour, try taking route 1 north and catching the yellow line at the Huntington station instead. It is a little farther but it might be faster. Overall a great park. Nice open field for the kids to play.
This campground is very clean and well maintained. Nice playground and game room for the kids. Clean showers/bathrooms and laundry room. My only complaint is the sites are not very private or big. It is kind of like camping in someone's back yard. However, overall good experience.
