This is a old campground and as a result has non-friendly hook ups with the water being on the wrong side for RV's and unlevel sites. I was informed by the lady at the office that it was built before RV's became popular and the state will start a complete rebuild on most of the sites this and next winter. The staff was friendly. It is located about 8 miles west of I-30, 30 miles south of Little Rock, 10 miles north of Hot Springs. The lake was full and beautiful and I would still recommend it to anyone for a night or a extended stay.
This campground is an equestrian campground and therefore has a problem with horse droppings which results in a fly problem. The restrooms were dirty and the showers in the womens bath houses were so dirty that my wife refused to use them. I believe that the state of Tennessee could do better job of upkeep and make this a real nice campground. I would not recommend this campground to anyone for any reason until cleaned up properly.
This is a Corp of Engineers park on a Corp lake in the edge of Nashville and a pleasurable palce to stay. Although we were only there as a 1 night transit I was impressed with the facilities. Clean and well kept as are most Corp facilities. Prices reasonable and the hosts were friendly and courtious. I recommend staying at this park for either 1 night or a extended time. Only draw back is it seems to have a Skunk population that likes to come out at night so watch carefully. Sewer facilities are a dump station at the entrance.
This is a city owned campground and needs work badly. The restrooms and showers had either rusting or poorly kept partions. It needed mowing badly as the grass at some sites was waist high and the park was infested with ticks and chiggers. I would not rcommend this campground to anyone as it is in complete disrepair. I must mention that it did suffer a huricane in 2004, but the clean up work has not been done satisfactorlly yet. The employees are very friendly except when it came to mowing the grass and I received several excusses when I asked them to mow around the restooms and playground area.
This campground is run by a real Southern Lady who keeps all faclities clean as a pin. You are instructed to pick a space and the grandson will come to your site to collect the fee in the afternoon. The laundry room was exceptionally clean along with the bathrooms and showers. The only draw back to this campground is that there are no trees at any site. I would highly recommend this as a place to stop when in transit or for a extended stay as all hookups are at each site and the sites are well kept. All interior roads are paved and the sites are level concrete pads.
