Beautiful state park. Nice large flat sites. The campground is not on the lake, but close to it. Lack of many sewer sites brings the rating down. Over the air TV reception was not strong and 3G Verizon data service was S L O W. Nice family setting.

This is a fantastic Corps of Engineer park. It's well kept with beautiful views surrounded by Cordell Hull lake. Regular rates range from $15 to $25 depending on whether you choose an interior site or one next to the lake. Not all sites have sewer. Those that do charge $1 more. They honor the federal Senior Pass that offers camping at half off. If you have a lakeside site, you can pull your boat up to the shore, right by your camper. The views are just phenomenal. Being a fed park, there is no cable or Wi-Fi. Over the air TV signal is good and Verizon data service works satisfactorily. Good campground Wi-Fi would make this a 10+ rating. This is not a "stop over" site, it's a vacation destination. Do not follow GPS directions to get to the campground. Instead, take 80 and 85 out of Carthage to the campground. GPSs want to take you down some really narrow mountain roads. Great place for families.

This is an EXCELLENT campground for an overnight stay. The sites are all 100' pull thrus. No need to unhook. Sites are level, graveled and not on top of each other. Staff was extremely cordial. Close enough to I-10 for quick access, but no noise. Rates are $23 for 30 amp or $25 for 50 amp. Very good value. Air antenna worked well, as did Sprint air card. What else could you ask for?

Most of the occupants in the park were permanent residents staying in older trailers on postage sized lots. The campground was kept clean, but was unsightly where old trailers had lots of "stuff" sitting around outside. If these yards had been tidy, the whole campground would have taken on a better feel. Management was cordial and helpful and the laundry facilities were fairly new and clean. I've never stayed at a campground with such small lots before . . . even at the beach. We were here for a week while we visited family for Thanksgiving. It's fine for overnight or a short stay where you weren't going to be spending much time at the camper. There aren't many choices right in Tulsa and the ones we saw after we arrived were worse. The WI-FI was S L O W much of the time. Given the current choices in the area, we would stay here again under similar circumstances. We paid $175 for the week with 50 amp service.

Small, but nice campground for an overnight. Convenient to the interstate, so there is some highway noise, but not bad. Sites would be nicer if they were longer so you could stay hooked up. Private stalls for showers with toilets. Nice laundry. We would stay again.

We stayed overnight while traveling. Everything was super clean: the sites, laundry, bathroom, showers. The owner has mowed a path to give easy walking access to nearby restaurants, a nice touch! Our $30.90 rate was for 50 amp service with 15% discount. Sites are large and pull through, very easy.

We found Grandma's campground to be a very good overnight stop. We stayed there twice: first going up to and then coming back from Elkhart. The grounds were spotless, if not a bit "naked" (void of trees). The roads were paved and the sites were gravel. The concrete pads were placed a bit strangely, but it didn't cause a problem. We imagine that the underground water hookup is because it freezes there. One of the other reviewers said there was no 50 amp service, but we had it at our site. Wi-Fi was acceptable. We appreciated the fact that the pull thru sites were flat and long enough and that we could spend the night without unhooking our 34' 5th wheel. Two different women checked us in on each stay after we selected our site. Both were friendly and cordial. We would definitely spend the night there again, but would not choose it as a long term vacation spot.

We stopped here on our way to Gulf Shores. Great for overnight stay. Park is barren of trees, so it would be pretty hot in the summer, but all the sites are well laid out and pull through. Wi-Fi and cable TV were excellent. They have recently upgraded their Wi-Fi. Owner and her daughter were very personable and polite. There are places to eat within walking distance, which was great for us as we did not want to unhook the 5th wheel just for one night. Rate is for Camping Club USA. We will definitely stay here again next time we are passing through.

If you are bringing your bikes, this is the perfect campground. There are multiple bike trails adjoining the campground and there are others in the Gulf Shores area. The campground is so flat that I didn't see any camper up on blocks. How nice is that? The roads within the campground are paved and are great for "toodling" around on your bike in the evening or for a pleasant walk. It's a HUGE park, so you can ride around a lot. Some sites are lake front, but all are nice. Many are pull through and all will accommodate big rigs. All the sites are VERY spacious. Naturally, it's a state park, so WI-FI and cable are non existent. After the hurricane renovations are complete, there is supposed to be WI-FI at the office. The restrooms and showers are the cleanest I've ever seen. Its serene and peaceful location is just minutes from stores and the beaches. We'll be back for sure!

This is a gorgeous lakefront campground with decent sized sites. There is a restaurant at the marina and a two very small convenience stores close to the campground entrance. We were here during the week after school was back in, so the park was pretty empty. Most sites are heavily wooded and not too level, with some really nice lake front sites that allow folks with small boats to pull them right up to their campsite. There is a large swimming pool, but no official beach area on the lake. There is a "sandbar" area where many were swimming. The campground is actually in Harrison, TN and is about 15-20 minutes from Chattanooga proper. The two big negatives were the lack of sewer hookups and the shower/restroom buildings. They are old and yucky. They might have been clean, but they were so yucky that they felt dirty. Having said that, the campground itself is so pleasant I will return and just endure the 15 minutes in the yucky shower rooms. Too bad they don't have sewer hookups for longer stays: then we wouldn't have to use the showers at all! That would have boosted my rating to a 10. We were in a 5th wheel and getting around all the trees multiple times (to dump) was not something we wanted to do. Once we got set up, we chose to stay that way! If you enjoy natural settings, you'll love Harrison Bay State Park. Be sure to check out the TN Riverwalk in Chattanooga while you're here. It's about 15 miles of mostly level paved trails, with some at the river's edge. Great for walking, biking, picniking, etc. We rode our bikes here every day.
