Looks like there's been some upgrading since the 2013 reviews at this family-owned campground. It is an easy on-and-off from I-65, but there isn't much road noise. The roads are dirt/gravel but with slow travel there is no problem. Shaded or open sites are mostly grass, fairly level and can accommodate any size rig with with tow or towed vehicle. Many tent sites. There are full hookups, free fast Wi-Fi, clean pool, nice pavilion, friendly owners, including former owners who live on site. No cable TV but lots of over-the-air stations. Diesel and gas available at two convenience store stations at the exit along with fast food. Small campground store in clean office building. Fishing lake is on the property. Check with web site for online coupon and specials. We have a 40 rig and would definitely stay here again.
Rate quoted is Coast to Coast and we stayed 4 nights. Campground has lots of amenities for adults and children. Check with office for road detour information. Campground roads need some repairs. Many uneven sites, and not much gravel on some. Office personnel are very friendly and try to be helpful. Decent store in office. Quiet surroundings, especially with the road detour. The Wi-Fi worked great for me most of the time, but not so good for my husband (we were near the lodge). Very nice lodge with small and large room for activities and a huge deck. Would give this a 10 with good roads and level sites.
This campground is a few miles east of Hwy 231, in a rural setting. The owners are super-nice and live on the 45 acre property only a phone call away. They meet you when you arrive and lead you to your site. We paid $12.50 on the Passport America rate. Nothing fancy, but very adequate for an overnight stay with no extras; just full hookups and some pull-thru sites. Entrance was very muddy due to two days of rain, but our 40 ft. RV handled the slight incline with no problem. Would definitely stay here again. If more facilities were available, the rating would have been a 10. There are long-term residents, but property is neat in appearance.
Adequate park for visiting the area. Easy access from I-65. Clean park, with good hookups, (water is below ground), WI-FI not the best, friendly people, laid back atmosphere, afternoon-evening office hours, no shade, long pull-through sites and shorter back-ins. We will return.
Owner's son was friendly and helpful in getting us a site for our needs, as well as filling our propane tank, even without a yellow KOA shirt. The campground is not luxurious, but certainly adequate, with close sites and narrow roads, but we had no problems with either with our 40 ft Class A plus toad. WI-FI wasn't the best, but okay. Some road noise from I-40, but no big issue. We'd stay here again.
Great host couples, including ham radio operators. This campground has improved over the last two years: better WiFi, more gravel on sites, more supplies in store, spruced up grounds, and friendlier attendants with a willingness to please, even to previewing sites with you in a golf cart. There is a little road noise, but nothing terribly loud. Easy access from I-85. Gas station at the exit including diesel with easy access. Great cable TV. It's definitely one of our favorite campgrounds and we'll be back.
The owners/operators of this campground are first-rate, friendly, helpful and honest. I'd give the campground a 10 except there is no cable TV and some sites are unlevel. The owners have made great improvements since our last visit a year ago, including upgrading the Wi-Fi and carrying more supplies in the campstore. The owners also went out of their way to make our club's visit a great one. I did not use the laundry or bath facilities, but I expect they were in clean based on the office condition.
We were in the "regular" section, not the "for purchase" lots. There are not many amenities, but a great park if you aren't looking for that. There is a wonderful, caring host. It is a spotless rest room and shower facility. Very nice rally park with a rate of $28. WiFi is only good at sites near building. Route to campground using Highway 89 from NC has a very STEEP hill - recommend coming in from the north. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely go back.
Very clean park. Concrete surface makes it hot in summertime so you'll need A/C. Great Wi-fi signal. Quiet, except if there are fireworks at the adjacent ballpark. Self-service check-in. No shower or rest room facilities. Well-lit at night.
