Very nice and well maintained with ongoing security patrolling the park. We were there during the Easter w/e and lot of kids and golf cart on the road. The only thing I think they should change is NOT allowing fireworks on the beach after 11.00 pm We will go back next year but out of the "Easter" break..
This is overpriced for the time of the year. I think they just opened the campground one week earlier.. Only (1) toilet was open. The office and rec room was still in winter "mode".. I can understand this but I cannot understand the 30$ a night next to a motel charging $ 34.00. The sites are not level, roads were flooded. This campground lives from the Cedar point traffic but should lower their prices for off season overnight camping
Well maintained and well managed park. All is clean and organized. The only problem is the difficulty to get out of the park and make a LH turn on highway 17 to Charleston.. I think the host should make this clear in their literature and suggest some other routes than to wait for 20 minutes to cross the road. Thank God for GPS...I found an alternate route
Bathrooms were very bad, the roads are very bad, there are a lot of seasonal campers with lots of junk on their sites. The exit road is a steep climb with a very tight corner. I had problems with my 28ft trailer to get out. It is for sure over rated in the big Good Sam's book. The "permanent" campers were weird looking and my wife didn't felt safe..
This was a unique experience, very quiet campground, very clean, well maintained, beautiful views of the Shenandoah mountains and the hosts cam to our site to talk and to give us sightseeing information. We will go back to experience the fall colors..
