Nice park, very quite, very scenic. The managers were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. It is close to lots of things to see, the German Resturant in Black Mountain is a must. We will be back for sure and the $15 is Passport rate.
Very nice park, clean and very quiet. All the people in the office very friendly and helpful. Family atmosphere, would rate a 10 except for the Wi-Fi was only available right at the office. Lots of permanent residents but I have found that these parks are usually the best maintained.
The new owner was very helpful and friendly. Sites are grass and dirt with concrete patio and were big enough. Quite even tho it is on Hiway 301, no problems with the park and would have given a higher rating had they not wanted to charge to play miniature golf, we have stayed at numerous campgrounds but this is first one that has wanted $5 to play. We would stay again and recommend the park.
This campground just opened in June, and they already have everything going the right way. A very friendly staff, all pull through sites, concrete sites, hard packed roads, free cable, free wi-fi, and a nice family atmosphere makes this a great place to camp. It is 5-6 miles from the beach, but they will take you in a van and pick you up 4 hrs later. The normal rate is $54 and $58 for waterway sites. We are going back in Sept.
We stayed here 2 times a year when it was a Coast to Coast park, but it had gotten a little run down. New owners bought it 2 years ago and have made some great changes but their prices were a little high so we haven't stayed. I found out they now let Coast to Coast members stay at a reduced price and we stayed 5 days and found the park to be excellent again. The same woman still runs the gatehouse in the PM and can answer any questions you have and is very helpful and friendly.
Great park. Sites a little small but adequate. Excellent security, fantastic ocean view, and friendly people. It was quiet this time of year. I was really impressed with the worship services. Wi-Fi and cable free and worked great at site.
Great level sites, roads paved, shade, beautiful view right from camper. Great place to camp; not much to do for children, but we aren't children. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and other campers friendly. Campground was quiet and peaceful. Would rate a 10 but no wi-fi at site. We will be back next year.
Our campsite was in a low place and it rained and water ran to us, other than that everything was good. We did not spend much time there as we were visiting family and we would stay again and ask for a site on higher ground. Office staff was helpful and friendly.
We stayed 4 nights and love the place, management is super nice and very helpful. We were in site 70 right at the office so Wi-Fi was great. Nothing real fancy here but it is very clean and quite. We will be back soon.
Great place to stay, most in the office friendly and helpful. Most of residents are permanent but all were nice and friendly. I would rate a 10 but have to pay for Wi-Fi. The $10 is C2C rate and we paid an additional $11 for 5 days.
We stayed a week and the nightly rate is the average for a week. Campground has nice long pull-through sites and is well kept. Roads were dusty but not the campground's fault. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. It got a little noisy over weekend but the campground was full with lots of kids. We would stay again if in area. There is a tremendous number of things to do in area, The Creation Museum is a must see.
The owners-managers were the nicest and most helpful I have seen in a long time. The bathrooms were very nice as was the laundry facilities. The site was pull-through and level. We will be staying 1 night again week while passing through but would definitely stay longer if in the area.
Rate reflects C2C discount. The park has some improvements and they are doing more. Managers were nice and helpful. Former members here so very familiar with campground. Improvements on roads would help but it is hilly so that is an ongoing problem. Our site was pretty level requiring only one board. We will be back for sure.
The managers are very nice. The campground is very clean, and is easy on and off I-95. We stayed 1 night 3 weeks ago and tonight on way back. For the $20 you get full hook-ups, free cable TV and good free Wi-Fi. The best deal I have found in awhile.
This is an adult park and approximately 75% are permanent sites but the staff and residents are some of the most friendly and helpful we have found anywhere. There are activities almost every day and a large church service every Sunday plus a jam session Sunday afternoon during season. The streets are all paved and each site has a concrete patio. Almost all head back north in March so not many activities off season. There is a Wal-Mart 5 miles down the road and some great places to eat. We stayed for 2 weeks and cost is the nightly charge for a week. We will be back next year for a month.
Agree with others as to this being a great campground, but I found the bathhouse facilities to be good rather than dated. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful I have found. Remote and very quiet but you can drive 3-4 miles and find most anything you might need. We will return for sure.
This campground has seen better days I am sure, calling it a resort is a big stretch. The only 50 AMP sites are at the top of a hill to which I was directed to in the wrong direction, causing me to have to turn around in driveway. The sites had not been mowed in awhile and the long term camper sites looked like dumps. We visited the transportation museum and Dan Nicholas Park (where we will stay next time). We mostly stayed inside other times. I would never camp here again at even the C2C rate of $10. I only gave it a 2 because the lady was nice.
Great access right off I-95, fairly new park so no shade. They are in process of building clubhouse and pool. The Wi-Fi worked good at site and was free did not pay for cable for just one night and not much to pick up so if you have to have TV you need to pay. Staff was very friendly and we had a sit right beside a gazebo. Several restaurants close by, we would stay again
Very quiet campground and the owners go out of their way to be sure things are ok. The pool is great, shade trees and I think the tobacco barns add to the rustic feeling of the campground. We attended 2 Mudcats games in Zebulon and the owner showed us a shortcut: only around 15 minutes travel.
Great park, the staff was helpful and friendly. Very quiet with mostly older couples like us, a plus to me. It rained 3 times and roads had some water but not a problem. They have some type of square dancing every night. I would give them a 10, but Wi-Fi would not reach our campsite but club house was nice. The rate is the C2C rate.
This is a fantastic campground. The staff is friendly and helpful, everything was spotless, and our site was gravel and plenty big. There is a playground for children and the pool was very clean. The Wi-Fi was free and good. It is close to downtown and Folly beach is a short drive as is James County Park
The sites are not huge but should not be a problem. Most all of them are pull-through. The road to the campground is a mountain road but is not a hazard at all. The people were very friendly and very helpful and went out of their way to be sure the stay was good. The only reason I did not give this very nice campground a 10 is because the Wi-Fi only works near the office.
Great stop over park, easy access to I-95. The lady runs a tight ship, which I like. All sites pull thru and level, we stayed 1 night on way to Fla. and 2 coming back. Be sure to visit the Okefenoke Wildlife Refuge, a one of a kind place. The town of Kingsland is around 5 miles away and has most anything you might want.
We just finished a 2 week stay here and loved it. There are several permanent residents but all the ones we met were friendly. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The park is clean and the sites are dirt or grass but no problem. Lots of activities and the 2 nights at the honey pot are great. We stayed as coast2coast.
We stayed for 7 nights, and this place remains one of the better places to stay. We were on the sound side this time and a cold front came thru and wind gusts up to 50 MPH will shake you up. So much to see here, this time we discovered Roanoke Island and the aquarium. Do not miss these.
The campground was nice, but roads muddy from rain. Very quiet, and we stayed 5 days as C2C members. The town of Washington is great for sightseeing, do not miss the Estuarium and the pontoon ride up the Pamilico River.
We stayed for 2 nights as C2C members. The park is very clean and staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The streets are paved and the sites are level with concrete. My wife likes the close proximity of Tanger Outlet, I like the Bass Pro Shop.
We stayed at campground for 5 days during Thanksgiving. Excellent park and the people were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure things were right. Very enjoyable time and Savannah is awesome.
We camped here March 14-19th, this park is excellent and they are making improvements. Lots for kids to do during season. Park is very clean and the bathrooms and showers are spotless. We plan to go back 2 times during summer and again in fall. It is a C2C member and not sure if they allow non-members.
Park was in good condition and they are continuing to upgrade. Baths and showers were very clean, pool was nice. The people running it were very friendly and helpful. It is a membership campground but takes others also. Less than 10 minutes fro N.C. Zoo and about same to K&W.
