This is a fantastic park. This is the third time we've been here, and would come again. Sites are large, spaced out, with a lot of grassy areas and trees for shade. It can be windy, especially right on the river,so be prepared. But it's fun to watch the wind surfers on the Columbia! Great views of the river. Everything is very clean, well cared for, and it has been very quiet each time we've been here. There is a very nice day-use area, with a beach and picnic areas.
This campground was a pleasant surprise. We were a bit concerned, since it was so close to town, and some of the previous reviews were less than complimentary. However, the park was very clean, hookup sites were spaced out well, with shade trees. It was very quiet all three nights we spent here. It is close to walking trails along the Yakima River. There are many activities close by, including museums, wineries, etc. so this is a good place to stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The park is very clean, sites are spaced out well with large grassy areas. It was very quiet. The only down side is that there is not much to do in the area if you don't have a boat with you. But it was a nice, quiet get-away, and we would definitely visit here again.
