Very nice park tucked just away from Roanoke and the Speedway. Very friendly staff, spotless rest rooms (shower, sink and commode are in individual rooms), individual AC/Heat each unit. Nice manicured grounds. When in DFW area will definitely stay here.
Guess the park is starting to show its age some. Previous park personnel were very friendly and even escorted us to the site and made sure we were happy before leaving. When they drove around park always waved and said hello. The present ones take your money and tell you which site you have. The restrooms and showers were not very clean (mud on floors and in showers, mold on shower curtains, lots of soap scum on walls). Laundry room has new washers and dryers, but did not use due to them needing to be cleaned and disinfected (had a petroleum odor when lid was opened). We have stayed several times before and the office/restroom/showers were really clean and spotless. The floors were clean enough to see yourself in and shined. There is also road construction going on in front of entrance to the park. It is doubtful we would stay again.
This rate reflects our Escapees discount. A nice, quiet, and clean park. WI-FI was good signal but slow at times. Good electricity and water pressure. They only minor negative comment I had was the site. We are a heavy 5th wheel (16,000 lbs) and after driving back and forth several times to compact the gravel (left approx 4 to 6" ruts), and placing 2 x 6"s under tires we settled even further the 8 days we were there. This resulted in the 2 x 6's splitting and daily adjustment of jacks to keep somewhat level. The people were very friendly. We would stay again if in the area.
A new campground built for Amazon.com winter workampers. Has large graveled, level, pull-through sites. Electricity is good. Good WI-Fi with 3 connection sites. Nice washers and dryers. A great spot to stay in this area. Close to Walmart and all shopping. If visiting or workamping would stay here again.
Staff was friendly and sites had a great number of cable channels. The reason for the low rating is due to poor electric. Stayed for 1 week and my surge protector shut off the power 3 times because was below 100 volts. Talked to maintenance and said all sites were like this (we had a 30 amp site). Said to switch icebox and water heater to propane to conserve electricity. The best voltage I had during the week was 110 volts. When ran microwave it dropped to 102 volts.
Very clean park and facilities. Only problem was some Back-In spots pretty tight and close together. Odd water at every other site as previously stated. Good electricity and minor leveling required at site. I would stay here again if in the area.
A great spot to stop and see the area from especially with the Passport rate of $20.00 for full hookups (back-in site). Water pressure was good (50 psi) and good electric. Wi-Fi was also good. The owners are slowly starting to try and fix the park up. We would stop here again if we are in the area.
Good spot to stay if sightseeing in the area. There are only sort of pet friendly. Only can use a certain area and allow only certain breeds and 2 pet max. There is also a $4.00 charge per day per pet surcharge. Good electric but low water pressure. There is very few spots that are not under the pine trees and very few grass sites, but they have a great cable TV system with over 50 channels. Site was level and extra charge for Wi-Fi (very good signal and speed). We would stay here again.
One of the only parks I have given a 10. Place is very clean, good voltage, good water pressure, level concrete pads, great cable and Wi-Fi. Lots of St. Augustine Grass. Spotless private bathrooms with showers and clean pool. This is our 2nd time here (last time was about 4 years ago) and still impressed with this park. We had a back-in spot with the Good Sam discount. I would highly recommend you try this park. I would definitely stay here again if in area.
A good spot to stop overnight: great price, good water pressure and electricity (50 Amp) and sewer. The cable TV was lousy, but all we needed was a spot to get off the road and rest as not many choices when traveling in this area. The host stated that the owner had died about a month ago and new owners were due in soon. Probably the reason for lack of weed-eating and haphazard mowing. I would stop here again to overnight only.
WE DID NOT STAY AT THIS PARK. After seeing camping sign on highway late in the day, we called and was told $24.00 for W/E hook-ups. The owner told us we would have no problem navigating in his 40 year old park (this was the 1st clue to keep on driving). When we arrived and pulled in, could not turn around to get out. Tight squeezes through trees and driving on a washboard dirt road we found the office and saw the exit sign and kept right on driving. I would not let my dogs out at night and don't know how we would have made it into any of the vacant spots we saw (we have a 39' 5th wheel which we told owner when we called). It was touch and go leaving the park to miss the trees and hold onto the steering wheel due to awful road conditions. I would never stay here
A great park to stop in and visit DC. As the other poster stated, after using the bus to the metro subway, I would drive and park at the parking garage. Good voltage and WI-Fi. We had a back-in site (1610) and it was just big enough for our 39" 5th wheel. We parked the truck sideways if front of the 5th wheel halfway in the street. The 2 MH's next to us did the same also. Did not seem to be a problem. Sites were very close but we used this park as a place to visit DC and did not spend much time outside. I would stay here again
This is a great overnight stop while traveling. Very friendly owners and gave us an escort to site. Fairly level sites (very little leveling on one side). Great Wi-Fi and about 15 over the air TV channels. The only problem we had was a weak 30 amp breaker. They switched us over to a 50 amp plug for only $2.00 more. We would stop here again
When we arrived after making reservations, we were led to a water/electric back-in site. After numerous attempts to try to get level and having to use 4 wheel drive to get out of site (It had rained there the day before), contacted office and asked if any sites available. They said use the next grass site next to us. I explained that we have a 39' 5th wheel weighing approx 17,000 lbs and would sink in that site also. Said all they had. We had to drive 2 hours to Allentown KOA. They did refund money after talking to them. I would not stay here after the narrow road and 1 lane bridge to the park (route was the one the park told to take)
Very nice park and lots of activities for the kids. Sites were pretty level. Like the previous poster we were parked with the seasonals, but no problems. We would stay here again. I have to agree $54.00 a night is getting expensive but they do offer a lot of amenities
Cable TV was excellent with about 70+ channels. Down side was muddy mess at sites. Could use some more gravel on sites. In the parks defense, they have had a lot of rain. We would not stay here again for the price
We stayed one night to visit some friends staying there. We got the summer (lower) rate. They put us up front. The 1st site they gave us we were unable to back-in due to a light pole and the water spigot sticking about 4' out of the ground. We asked and got another site. They are all gravel but could use some more gravel to level up the sites. We were really disappointed in the front sites (1st Street)for this being a Cal-AM Resort. It would of been nice to camp closer to our friends. It was a long way (1/2 mile) to facilities and office. If you wanted to use them you had to drive. This was the reason for the 8 rating. The cable and 50 amp were fine. I will stay in another park next time and drive over to visit our friends.
A clean over 55 park. We stayed in the pet area and was very tight backing in our 38" 5th wheel. The park had an escort and they had the people next to our site move their truck so we could back in across their lot. We had to wait for them to move their truck the next morning before we could leave. We also had to move our truck so a 40' MH could back-in next to us. There is no pet walk and pets are not allowed in the non-pet area of the park. I can understand this policy as some pet owners are reluctant to clean up after their pets. This was the reason for the 9. Overall a very nice park
A place to get off the road while traveling. Good grave spaces. Staff was friendly. Not a lot going on here except for the gas and pipeline workers staying here. Wi-Fi was good early mornings and late evenings, poor during peak usage.
Very nice place to stay. We extended our stay by 2 days to rest thanks to the friendly campground owners and hosts. There are very friendly and helpful. Very easy exit on and off I-15. No road noise. They have done a lot of improvements from last year ( quicker Wi-Fi, 50 amp hook ups under the shade trees). A great place to stay 1 night or several nights.
