This is an average RV park needing cosmetic updates to the parking sites. The sites are gravel and overgrown with weeds. The only well-kept grass surrounds the office. As a result, the overall looks of the park are lacking, it's just not very pretty to look at. The staff were very nice and we enjoyed the escort to our site. The cable tv very good and has plenty of channels. The internet is terrible as it is hard to access and drops out once you get on. There is only one wi-fi access point. We didn't use the showers, restrooms or indoor pool or spa. If we come back to Amarillo we would be tempted to try a different park.
The quoted price is with Good Sam discount. This rv park is behind a shopping center and the sign is off the roadway so it might be tricky finding the place. The office staff was very friendly and we were escorted to our site. This park is very clean and well kept. The entire park is all concrete with grass strips in between sites and nothing more. No bushes, no trees, not even picnic tables are provided. For being concrete, the pads are not all that level. It is very disappointing that there is no swimming pool in such a hot location. It is also a major disappointment that the park charges so much for providing so very little.
First the bad - absolutely terrible WiFi. There are several access points available but good luck getting internet access. I've been having a hard time writing this review because of getting dropped, and I'm in front of the office. Advice - bring your own WiFi. This is not a family friendly park. It is mostly full-timers and except for a pool there is nothing for the kids. It is a nicely maintained park, though. Stone Creek runs though it, and that is very picturesque.
Upper tier of RV parks/resorts. Absolutely the best in amenities. There is a new off-leash dog run area that is huge and grassy. We love Buckhorn and will definitely come here again. My only complaint is the terrible Wi-Fi consisting of very weak signals rendering the internet useless most of the time.
We loved this park. We were in Cooper's Hawk Loop space 87 for four days, which is on a plateau with beautiful views of the Cottonwood valley and the hillside town of Jerome. We found the staff very friendly and the park clean. Our site was level with 50 amp service and water. Wish it had sewer but there is a 2 stall dump station. There are no shade trees in Cooper's Hawk, but this time of year it didn't matter. The lower Quail Loop has plenty of trees but no views. We hiked the park and found how large it is. With the three lagoons and running river this park is very special to us. We will be coming back to Dead Horse - it's that good.
