Loved this campground. Wyoming State Parks have the most beautiful campsites around. We would have given this one a 10 if it really had a sewer like some of the posts said. There are no sewers only a dump station within the park. That being said, this park is very convenient to Cody. Cody is a great town with lots to do. Make sure and go to the Buffalo Bill Museum. Plan to spend at least one long day there. Can't wait to come back here again.
I only gave this a nine because it was in the primitive section of the campground; otherwise I would have without a doubt given this campground a 10. The sites, though backin, were big and spaced far apart. Since the trees were lodgepole pines there were no trees obstructing campsites. Our campsite was right on the lake so the view was beautiful. The campsites were all very well maintained. We definitely would stay here again.
This campground is absolutely wonderful. I gave it a 10 not because it has the widest most modern sites, which it does not; but because from the moment you drive into the place it exudes warmth and hospitality. We have never stayed at a place where everyone is treated like family. The management is so accommodating and the guests are some of the friendliest people you will ever want to meet. We will definitely go out of our way to stay here again.
Really nice campground. We were fortunate to be able to get a site for the sprint car races. If you don't like racing, it could be noisy until 10pm; but since we love racing, it was great to be able to go to races and walk back to our MH. This campground was also walking distance to Calistoga, so really made a fun place to stay.
Beautiful campsites overlooking the rolling hills. Fun to watch the racing schools cars skirting around the track. A little far from Carmel, Monterey, etc., but the beauty makes up for the drive. This is one of our favorite campgrounds and always our first choice when in the area.
This was a fabulous campground. The park was very clean and the camp hostess was extremely helpful. The scenery was beautiful and relaxing. The visitor center was very interesting, the park rangers loved sharing the stories of the ruins, and there is a free i-pod narrative of the Homolovi Ruins and tour included with camping fee. We will definitely return.
The rate is for check as CC was higher. There is nothing glamorous about this park but if you are visiting friends in Wichita it suffices ones needs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Campground could use more upkeep. We would stay here again.
We have camped here 2 times and each time have found the staff very friendly and helpful. Don't let them sell you their extras as in tour of Valley. Instead use Monument Valley Safari located in Green shopping complex across the road.
This is a great campground. Very easy access from highway and very quiet. It is about 4years old and looks brand new. There are no trees for shade but that was okay as we did not have to worry about room for slides. We will definitely camp here again.
One of the reviewers said this was like an oasis, it probably was until some of the oasis began to drop huge cottonwood limbs out of the trees and they had to close off part of the park which took out the pull-throughs. That being said, this was still a beautiful and serene campground. There are a lot of areas to hike and enjoy nature studies and if you are a horse fancier, there is a nice horse coral and lots of riding area. We truly enjoyed this campground and would camp here again if in the area.
This was a very nice well maintained campground. Unlike some of the former reviewers, we found this to be the nicest in the area. The campsites were all nice long pull throughs and the interior roads within the campground were wide and manuverable. The trees were small, so there was not a lot of shade and though a beautiful playground, there was not a lot to do in the area but if you are just wanting a place to relax for a few days or spend the night, this is definitely the place. Managment was delightful.
This was a beautiful place to stay. Extremely well maintained with long back in spaces. Of all the parks in the DeSmet area this was by far the most beautiful and a great deal for the money. We did not find more than 30amp, but it was very adequate to run air conditioning. This is a great family place with lots to do. The early history featuring Laura Ingalls Wilder made for many fun adventures. We highly recommend this beautiful park.
We stayed here at the Arkansas Loop Campground. We had a beautiful campsite overlooking the marina. Our site #32 was nice and level, however as previously stated by others, some sites look quite unlevel. The sites were large and a nice distance apart. The campground was very clean and well patrolled by a very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here two nights and would definitely stay here again. Would have given it a 10 had it had full hookups.
