We stayed here while visiting Shiloh. Some of the sites were not even, but there were enough to pick from that were level. The restrooms and showers were clean. This is a very nice state park and we would stay here again.
This is truly a family "campground". No huge RV's. Two nice beaches on Swain's Lake, peddle boats, canoes and kayaks to rent. Activities at the rec hall and a basketball court. Staff was helpful and friendly, sites were nice. The sites on and near the water were small but away from the water they were good size and private. We'll come back here again.
Wonderful campground, used it as a base for going to Silverton, Ouray and Mesa Verde. We had a stream side site which was very private. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
I had to chuckle when I read these reviews. We stayed here back in 1980 something and it looks like nothing has changed in 26 years, how sad. I remember being in the pool and not being able to see past my knees because the water was so filthy, it had to be the hottest weekend of the year too. Be warned, stay away from this dump!
This is definitely an older park with sites meant for popups and tents on the wooded side. We couldn't open our awning and had to squeeze between trees to fit. The open side of the campground had mostly bigger rigs but even some of those barely fit on their site. We used it as an overnight stop and would choose a Wal-Mart next time.
