We stayed 2 nights in a pull through with a 35 foot motorhome and a TOAD of total 55 feet. Rates reflect Passport America rates. A perfectly good and safe place to stop while on the road and the people we met were very nice, even invited us to an ice cream social. Wonderfully full _huge_ library in the clubhouse. We'd stay here again for overnights, but opted to stay elsewhere for a month as we felt their monthly rate of $485. + electric was far too high for the area as just down the road was @$100 less, plus we found we could stay on Padre Island itself for less than what they charge. Very busy park with lots of dogs and golf carts.
The owners are about the nicest people we've met during our travels and this was our 2nd year we have stayed here. The noise from the road is constant but you can't hear it inside, and while there aren't any showers it does have a laundry room. What this park has going for it is close proximity to just about everything from New Orleans to Bilox- it's about 40 minutes to either one. Walmart and Clairborne Hill Grocery is 1-2 mile trip and the entire strip of Highway 90 in front of the park gives access to many restaurants and shops between Waveland to Pass Christian. The beach is not far to the south and if you go north you'll be at the Stennis Space Center. Slidell is just 20 minutes west as is Gulfport to the east for shopping. If you like the Casinos; Silver Slipper and Hollywood Casinos are nearby and easy to get to. Their weekly buffets are put together with very talented chefs. This park is a mixture of working vs. retired travelers and we'd stay there again next year as well.
Excellent WIFI speed, sites are level under beautiful oaks. I got the impression it's recently been bought by the couple at the office and they've been trying to trim all the trees to accommodate all size rigs. We were checked in in 10 minutes and led directly to our requested pull through. The road is noisy and there is an occasional train, but we don't hear it inside our rig. I have no complaints and if not for the road noise I'd have given it a 10, but then again, being so near the main road means you don't have to follow a GPS to get there. Very clean place and we'd stay here again.
We pulled in this afternoon to find the office locked with no notes on how to contact the owner nor what to do if they weren't there. We couldn't tell where they put RVs as it looked to be pretty full already with most of the park single wide long term owners. Someone drove by and said they'd go get the owner and 15 minutes later they came back and said the owner had been notified they had a customer and would be over shortly. We hung around for another 20 minutes, walked through the park and decided to leave. I give them a zero for not being foresighted enough to have provided contact information or at the very least, instructions on where to park if no one was around. We were tired, hungry and wanted to get settled in for the night, not waiting around for hours. We won't be back.
