We chose to be in the middle section to be able to get satellite. Sites were long, but a bit narrow. We had to change to get leveled. It's a beautiful park on the lake. City owned. Easy access in and out was easy and the staff was very friendly. All the utilities worked well. We would stay there again when in the area.
This is the perfect place for visiting Hagerstown, MD for us. No frills. No pool, no playground just good spaces to stay for awhile. Also, a decent price with lots of pull thrus. Owners were very friendly and helpful. All the utilities worked well and getting in and out was easy. We would definitely stay here again. Best campground in the Hagerstown area.
Campground is quiet. I'll give it that. Small rural place. No concrete or gravel on our site. The entrance/exit is only one lane, you are in serious trouble if you meet someone coming the opposite way. Narrow roads interior also. Bathrooms were spotless which is a plus. Utilities worked fine. Exiting with a right turn needs to be done very cautiously due to a deep culvert on the right. Beware! Very basic park with a fairly high price. That all being said. There is not many choices in this area.
This is a CG set up for 99% permanents. We were in a pull through that required wood blocks to level. Gravel sites. Utilities worked okay until there was a heat wave and that caused low voltage. Nice quit place with friendly owners. Okay for a few days. Lots a speed bumps throughout.
We are giving this resort a nine only because sites are only gravel (and very little) and the road getting to your site is bumpy and a bit on the narrow side. On the plus side site was perfectly level and nice size lots and all the utilities worked great. Did not use their Wi- Fi so don't know about it. Bathhouse was clean and spacious. We were visiting friends in area so we did not use fishing golf pool etc., but they all looked great and well kept. We would stay here again if in the area.
The restrooms and showers were nice, but we did not use them. We refuse to pay for water. Sites were side by side with you being really close to neighbors on one side. Utilities worked fine. Leveling was easy. We were there for 6days. If in the area again might look around first.
We had a bit of an issue when assigned our site. They corrected it easily as this was a weekday, and camp was quite open. It could have been an issue on a weekend. We had excellent hook ups that worked well, and we had a site with satellite coverage. Verizon worked well also. Only issue we saw was that the interior roads are a bit narrow. Site leveling was easy. We would stay here again.
Wi-Fi was available but had to go up to the cafe to use it. Was out in the back area of the campground. Pool was closed for 3 days when we arrived due to rain. Good interior roads except there was lots of standing water after it rained. Everything is only in French. Okay, but we could not partake because of this. Did not tell us about the Wi-Fi issued until we had already paid, tried it, and found out it was out in our area. Daily trip to cafe which was a pain.
Place was packed when we arrived. Thank goodness we had a reservation. Site size okay, but not generous. E/W/S services worked fine. Leveling was easier than getting into the site was. It also required backing up and going through the next site to exit due to trees. Bumpy and narrow roads.
Campground is okay for an overnight or if you like to golf. The place has no amenities. No pool, no restrooms no showers. No nothing. The E/W/S worked fine and level was okay. After a rain lots of sites did hold water. We would stay here again for an overnighted. Staff was friendly and helpful
This is a nice park and we have stayed there many times. The problems we see are they need to address the pot holes and the low lying areas that hold so much water thus mud. The sites are level and all the utilities work well. The staff is very friendly. We'll stay there again when in the area
Nice level lots-unpaved. They were very friendly and the lots are a nice size. The rates would be even higher, but they are a bit off the beaten path for just an overnight stay. Looks to be a great place for families. Rate reflects PPA rate. Utilities all worked great. Did not use the Wi-Fi or bathhouse.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The one problem is the location of the utilities. Way back on the lot. Rate reflects PPA rate. Otherwise they would be a ten. Easy access in and out and not far from I-10.
Great place for a overnight stay. Owner was super nice. Site was large pull thru with excellent utilities. Place sits up on a knoll with beautiful scenery. The restrooms were spic and span clean. This place is just for stopovers in our opinion not much to do. Otherwise it would be a ten. Easy access off and on Rt 25.
One terrific campground. It would be a 10 except that leveling required blocks. All the utilities worked great. Sites were generously spacious and the place was unbelievably quiet even over a home football weekend. There is train noise but not enough to interrupt your sleep. Satellite worked great but ask for a satellite site. Did not use WiFi but is is available. Staff was friendly and helpful. Verizon worked great.
Rate cited was with Good Sam discount. This CG has easy highway access and the utilities all worked well. Level gravel sites long enough for our unit and our tow. Back portion of the CG has better sized lots. BBQ restaurant was a super bonus. Plenty of areas to walk dogs also. We would definitely stay here again
Nice long pull through sites. Utilities were great and the roads are wide and paved. Needed blocks to level the coach in front . Gravelly sites with concrete picnic area. When approaching resort from Rt-80 you will need to turn right BEFORE sign on left. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Great park easy to find with super level paved sites with excellent utilities and a picnic table. They also have a dog run. We were there during air races and even at full capacity it was quiet. There is a casino right here and they have a great little restaurant inside the casino with very reasonable prices. Management was a pleasure to deal with. GS discount not in price due to air race events. We absolutely would stay here again.
Super nice staff they were great. Call for directions gps will mess you up. Back in site dirt and level. Plenty of room for tow vehicle. Nice paved entrance. Quiet place would definitely stay there again.
Everything worked well. Nice long level gravel spots with adequate room between. The camp host was super nice and helpful. Easy to navigate to but watch for dip at turn in. We would stay here again. Price reflexes good Sam and weekly rate.
This is pretty much a parking lot for RV's. We were lucky enough to have a space next to a small grass island. Otherwise you are slide to slide maybe 5 feet between. The electric, water and cable all worked fine. It is a very convenient place for visiting San Francisco. RV's tend to speed in after hours and with the office closing at 5 there is no one enforcing the speed limit. This place fills up every night so make reservations. It is a bit pricey for a parking lot.
Absolutely the best KOA of all. We normally avoid KOAs, but we had friends to see here so we did. What a wonderful surprise. All campgrounds should be this nice. Friendly helpful staff. Great electric, water and cable connections. We would go back here again in a heartbeat. Lots of activities for children to do. Great store and just overall a great place.
Hard to find entrance poorly marked. Somewhat tight. We had issues with water while there. Out for almost 24 hrs. Electric marginal. Sites were mostly gravel. Would not attempt anything longer than 40 ft. We were on an end site which was nice but most of the others were close together. Lots of families, kids and dogs. Manager was helpful and friendly.
This park needs a bit of attention. The staff was friendly and helpful. All the speed bumps were a bit of a pain. We were parked in the "circle" and had a terrible time with the sugar ants They invaded us big time. What a mess that was. Site was good size and level; all utilities were working properly; bathrooms were good and clean. Pool was nice but question the lock between the two of them. What's up with that? Security was a bit lacking. If you claim to have it, at least attend to it especially at night. Coming into the park late was somewhat of a security joke. This park also has it's fair share of permanents, but they seem to be keep up for the most part.
In the 8 yrs we have RV'd we have never left a cg without staying at least 1 night until today. The place was bad. We had reservations for a week and drive a 40ft motorhome. They were putting us in a site all the way back between a mobile and a perm 5th wheel. We could not have even parked in it because the 5th wheel owner had his car in there and was out of the park. This is a very run down park with lots of permanents and very small row sites. Lot of vehicles parked on the street due to the narrow sized sites. Unless you are crazy do not even think of staying here especially if you are over 32-35 feet inn length. We would never stay here or recommend it to friends. Perfect for a pop up trailer
Okay for a couple of days stay. Easy access and nice size lots. Pull-through access, and leveling was easy. Free was nice. Was behind a hotel. Rate was Passport America. We would stay again if in the area. Pull-throughs were in front of camping area that had its fair share of permanents.
First off, they charged an extra $5.00 per night for our grandson. This is primarily a residence park. The site was soo small that we had to park our towed vehicle on the lot next to us. The lots are all sand and you will need boards to level your RV. On the plus side, the help was extremely nice and the pools are wonderful. Showers were real clean, which was nice. Rate is the Passport America rate with the up-charge for our grandson. I would not stay here at the full cost. Not worth the small size of the lots.
150+ very large spaces. Level, concrete pads with plenty of space for car at either end of RV. Excellent water pressure and solid electricity. Medium walk to the showers and dog walk. All-in-all, a great military famcamp. Quiet on weekends, jet noise during the week.
This was a nice level area, The sites in the back are best for larger RV's. The office personnel were very pleasant. The rate is rather high for what you get. There are lots of permanent sites, a few of which are not kept up real well. Not sure we would re-visit this park.
Great park, easy to find, easy to get into and out of. Very pleasant owner. Sites were large and level with excellent utilities. They had real grass areas just for walking the dogs. A treat in Texas!! Beautiful sunsets. Did not use the pool. We would stop here again in a heartbeat when in the area again.
Easy in and out, sites were adequate size. We had problems with the voltage on the electric output. Rate is PPA rate. Did not use pool. We travel with 2 dogs and the sand burs are awful here. Probably would look for another place if in the area.
Very convenient park while visiting New Orleans. Walk to French Quarters. Nice large level lots with excellent utilities and easy access. Only thing we had problems with was the dogs. Not a lot of space for walking them. There is definitely noise from the highway but it doesn't keep you awake at night. They even have free ice. What a perk. It is a bit pricey but it fills up every night!! We would definitely stay here again.
Passport America rate. Great park for visiting the area. Short on amenities but nice level lots with excellent utilities. Really easy access to the park and easy pull-through sites. They do have a really great run area for the dogs. Loved that. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are a fair number of permanents but they are kept up really nicely. We would stay here again while in the area. Suggest reservations. They fill up every night.
This is a PPA park that is the perfect place to stop when in the area. The owners are super and the lots are paved and level. The rate quoted is with the $3.00 up charge for 50 AMP. Restrooms are superior and well maintained. Lots are a bit narrow, but they work. There are quite a few permanents, but they are well maintained. Dog walking area may be a bit far from you pad. We have stayed here on numerous occasions and will continue to use this CG.
This campground is wonderful for overnighting. Easy access from I-10 and easy pull thru sites. The only negative is that the utilities are far back on the lots and if you have a tow they are quite far from your rig. The sites are paved and level but you do get quite a bit of water standing between them when it rains. Bathrooms were superior. Free continental breakfast is a plus and they are PPA. We have stayed here before and will stay here again!!
Wonderful, wonderful place to stop on an overnighter when trekking north or south on I-81. All the services work great, nice level gravel big lots with lots of room for slides and tow vehicles. We use this resort all the time.
This is a no nonsense park with wonderful concrete pads with full hook ups at all sites. Very easy to get into and out of. It is absolutely a wonderful place to stay overnight on the way to south Texas. Plenty of room for big rigs. They would have gotten a 10 but the hookups are on the way back end of the sites which was not real convenient with a tow attached.
Great overnight stop over. Lots of pull through sites with good power and full hook ups. Level sites. Even thou close to highway, did not notice any road noise. Very convenient place to stop. They have lots of concerts series that sometimes require a 2 night on weekends. Keep this in mind if you are trying to stay just for the night.
What a gem of a campground. We moved here from another one in the area. This is a privately owned cg and the owners are delightful. It was quiet and well suited for us. Sites were large and level with easy access. Grounds were well maintained. We would have given a 10 but the sign for the campground needs to go closer to the road so you can see it when you approach. Just the right amount of trees that are trimmed to allow access. W,E,S all worked great. CG has night security. We would stayed here again and again when in the area.
Sites are not paved and roads are gravel. Entrance area for checkin is very crowed and close and roadways to sites are not very wide and in need of tree trimming. No ability to get satellite. Campsites are kind of dark and dreary due to coverage of trees. Shade is nice but this was too much. This is a campground that is best utilized by families with smaller rigs. It appeared that there were lots and lots of things for the kids to do. Entrance to park is on a curve so care is needed going and coming.
Price reflects Passport price. This campground is a gem. Large open level spaces with full hook ups that all worked well. Delightful scenery abound. Quiet and relaxing place. Owners were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if in the area in a heartbeat. Even thought sites are not paved this placed deserved a 10!
Nice level area, lots of spaces, but they tend to be narrow and are not paved at all. The roads are muddy and hold water in the rain. Nothing to write home about. Did not use or even look into the bathhouse but they were showing their age from the outside. No 50 amp service, 30 service was fine. Older campground but okay.
Park was very accommodating. They were full as it was Father's Day weekend. It is definitely a family oriented park. It work well for us. Everything worked fine and it was an easy in and easy out park. We would stay here again.
This is an older park in need of lots of attention. It is just barely capable of a 40 footer with a tow vehicle. Getting in and out is not for the faint of heart. On the plus side, electric was fine, water pressure fine. Site was level. This is not a destination park, but okay for just an overnighter. Call for directions. Rate is high for what you got. $27.00 is with a discount.
Sites are nice and long, level, concrete pads. They are a bit close side to side. Interior roads are paved. Lots of permanents, but they are quiet and friendly with nice rigs. No junky ones. Office staff was friendly. Great place for visiting Austin. Price reflects one day at Good Sam and 3 Days at Passport rate.
Sites close but easy in and out. Park has very little grass so it is dusty, dusty, dusty. Mostly permanents. Owners did not pick up after their dogs. Cable was basic only. We would stay there again only if necessary.
Large spacious sites, but they have some fairly aggressive slope from front to back if you are in a large rig. Had problems with the sewer being backed up even though we were at the top of the hill. You will see lots of deer day and night. We would stay here again.
This was a bare basic park. Gravel road and sites. Very dusty. Dogs not picked up after. Cable was okay. The office tried to put us in pull throughs that did not even accommodate the rig, much less the tow vehicle. Went to back in sites that had aggressive entrance into the lot that causes the mud flap to bury in sand if you do not lift it. Had to angle the rig into the site to get over the the hump.
Okay campground for visiting Fredericksburg. Price reflects one day at Passport rate. Rather high for what you get. Sites are level but narrow, and the entrance is, also. Sites were not really long enough to leave tows attached. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Cable worked great
Great park with lovely, clean sites. Yes, you do hear the planes. But remember "The noise you hear is the sound of Freedom." Appreciate it. It's not like they fly at night and keep you awake. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at this park, people and management friendly and helpful. Huge pull through site with good TV and Wi-Fi reception. Good 50 amp service. We would go here again and again. Suggest reservations because pull-throughs are limited.
Big "Commercial" park. We stayed here overnight and would not do it again. The sites are crammed in and the site was just long enough for the 40 ft with tow. The so called large pull through was more than a challenge to get into due to the angle of the site. It is a "business" not a family owned park.
First, ask for Military discount: 20 percent, even for retirees. This park has a back "40" that is absolutely for the big rigs. The spaces are big, level, angled for privacy and easy in and out. Paved interior roads/gravel sites with open access for satellite views. Good solid 50 amp service. They really have their act together for the big guys. All facilities seem in good working order, and the front office staff was professional and really friendly and helpful. This park has their act together.
This is an old KOA and you can tell by the fact that all but a few of the sites are very tight. The park has lots of trees which doesn't help. We were never sure which way the traffic was coming past us. Some exited one way and some the other. This could have caused a major problem with two people exiting at the same time. Lots of cost for very little services. The staff, we found were less than friendly.
This park is catering to their seasonal for sure. The campground area has very few 50 amp and sewer sites. On the plus side, the sites are large. The CG being an older one, has serious problems with the electric voltages on both the 30 and 50 amp sites. This can blow out your AC without you being aware of why it happened. They fussed at us for unhooking our car near the entrance, yet no one had instructed us otherwise. Also they recycle but don't tell you this, or where their laundry is or what the trash small trash cans around the park are for. The store and the laundry and one of the only two dumpsters are all located outside the park. The staff was just so-so, a take it or leave it, attitude. There is an extra charge for pets as well as AC. They don't seem to have much in the way of activities either. Roads are paved and easy to traverse.
We were in a premium site, and after riding through the campground, I would not have wanted anything but the high dollar site. The other sites are very tight. In fact right on top of each other. The bathrooms were clean at times, but later in the day could really use another cleaning. 4 washers and dryers for this size park is not enough and 3.00 per load is a ridiculous amount for a washer and another 3.00 for the dryer. It is a very very family oriented campground and is heavily used by families. Not a lot of sponsored activities except on the weekends. Trash needs to be picked up more often than it is; overflowing every other day. We also had lots of issues with the voltage on the 50 amp site being lower than required causing our check system to shut it down on numerous occasions. Interior roads are paved as are the premium sites. I doubt with a big rig we would stay here again.
The entrance to this campground is not for the faint of heart. Tightest one we have ever encountered. Stiff price for the lack of activities, which was zero even over the 4th. Charged $3.00 each extra for the dogs. Plus $3.00 per day for A/C and 3.00 more if you ran two A/Cs. They have plopped some newer extra 50 amp sites over by the pool with black gravel that tracked everywhere and needed boards to level. Doubt we would ever go back there again. Geared to the abundant seasonals in the park.
Price is average with Passport Discount included. This is a no frills campground with only a rec hall and super clean facilities. Great place for baby boomers. Quiet and comfortable. Would be a 10 with concrete pads. Easy access in and out of park.
Easy access and easy to level. Owners are super people. Nice size lots with W/E/S and cable. Weekend brought in a lot of families with lots of children, but that's what camping is all about. Did not use or check out the shower/restroom facilities. We stayed for 4 nights.
This park is way off the highway, about 10 miles, which they fail to tell you in their directions, several miles of which are on winding roads with no shoulder. The staff tried to be helpful enough but the 19ish year old that helped us wasn't very professional. Also, when we asked for a EWS site instead of EW she put us into a site that took about an hour to get into, and we were unable to level. They actually put us back with the seasonals who were very helpful in getting us into the site, but it stops there. The roads within the campground are tight, windy, and dirt. We would not stay here again on a bet. Although we do not use the bathhouses, I did peek in, and I was very happy that I did not have to depend on using them. Old, old and in need of some serious TLC.
Very few 50 amp sites with lots of permanents. This park has lots of potential and the owner, who was very friendly and helpful, has lots of plans for improving the place. It seemed that most of the people using it for day use were very bad about clean up so management needs to stay on top of this more. Site we had was only 30 amp with water and sewer but was level and ample in size.
Nice smaller park with really friendly owners. Entrance is a bit aggressive in 40 ft with tow vehicle but not terrible. Swing wide. Nice size, full hook up 50 amps sites, but they need to be leveled a bit more most people were needing blocks to level. We got TV & Satellite, and Free WiFi at site. Very convenient to Mammoth Cave etc. Owners are on the right track with the improvements they are making. It was also only 16.00 per night at the passport rate.
Bathrooms were old and worn but clean. Spaces are very limited for 40' RV's with lots of shade. Unable to get TV reception. No WiFi. This is a resort that has houses, mobiles, rv's and a marina. Passport rate of 12 per night was great. 30 amp only, no sewer hook ups. Pretty setting.
Bathhouse was the best part about this park. New and kept clean. They have too many unoccupied permanents that are allowed to stay up to 120 days. Therefore, no real full hook ups available for travelers. And they don't take any reservations so it's a crap shoot as to what you will get. Lots of standing water around park, grading would help here and there. Too many speed bumps. We had no satellite, TV, phone, or internet at our site. Very few have it. It was interesting to say the least. Site size was very generous. Overall it was an acceptable place to stay. We probably would not plan an extended stay here again, maybe if just overnight.
We stayed at this park for a week. We were very happy with the place, the owners worked with us (due to our last minute plans) getting us in with less than 2 days notice. We had to move once but that worked out fine. This is a very family friendly campground and very well run. Good paved interior roads. The road coming in is a bit narrow but did not cause a problem even with a toad attached. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Even though the park was quite full over the weekend we were here, everything ran smoothly.
We were pleasantly surprised. We usually try to avoid KOA's (due to size and cost) but this one has renewed our faith in them. CG was a bit hilly but the site we had was level and sufficient for the motorhome. The toad was parked across the road, but that was fine. Staff was real friendly, pool was inviting and large. We would definitely stop here again.
Nice campground, some permanents but nothing really old. For a new campground the sites were not as level as they could be. Our neighbor's slideout wound up be about 1 foot for ours, even though we were on an end of row site.
We stopped here overnight and would do it again. It is a really basic campground, but you have easy pull thru, large sites, cable TV and free wifi. There are lots of older buildings around, but who cares, great place to overnight and so reasonable priced with passport.
This is a passport park and the Wi-Fi was not available at all sites. We were very happy there and would stay there again. I guess if Wi-Fi is the most important thing on your list of needs you would need to ask for a site near the office. There were some permanents there also but nothing that was old or ugly.
Nice park, convenient to Mesa Verde National Park. The pool and hot tub were exceptionally well taken care of. We had a problem with the water hook up leaking badly, but once we told the office it was immediately taken care up. Easy in and out of large pull thrus.
This is one of the older KOA's and it was quite aggressive to get into the site we were in. They actually left an adjoining site vacant so that we could exit easily. I would not advise if for a novice RV driver.
Park was very tight, and the owners are not on site. The park is mostly permanents. Wi-Fi worked fine. Sites are just barely big enough for a 40 footer. We would not have been able to even pull out unless the next door 5th wheel tow vehicle was gone.
This park is definitely a seasonal park for the most part. They only have 2 pull thrus and the 40ft limit is really stretching it. The sites are so narrow that if your neighbor has a slide you will not be able to open your main awning. We were put in a new site that used to be the storage area and it was awful. Backed up to the Florida Turnpike so very noisy all day long and most of the night. Lot was 80 percent sand and 10 percent limestone. Some grass and lots of fire ants. We were there to visit the attractions only so we were okay but if you like to be outside any this is not the place to be.
The only thing this campground has going for it is the shade trees. When we were trying to make reservations they don't even answer the phone until after noon. They said it was because there were cleaning the restrooms. Not even, we looked they are nasty. Glad I had my own to use. Site were very aggressive to get into and very difficult to level on. Some people just gave up leveling because they were only staying one night. They did not enforce the leash rule for dogs and large ones ran around not on a leash. It seemed to be a party park for the young at heart with lots of noise and drinking. The road to get into this place is well over 2 miles long and you could not possibly pass another RV. We thanked God that we did not meet another vehicle coming in or going out. I would never use this park again.
This campground is nice, most of the sites are large but in the open. Not much there but the gravel sites. Easy in and out, sites were bare of much shade. We stayed here to go to the show, which was really good and all the shops were fun to go through. Office is really a shack, they don't offer much in the way of supplies or groceries. Not a destination campground.
This campground renewed my faith in KOA. Unlike most KOA's these big rig sites were just that. Nice pull-thru sites with lots of room. Friendly and helpful staff, nice pool. I would stay here again. Easy in and out for larger rigs.
We stayed here on our Passport America discount. Normal price is 30. We only stayed here for one night. This is an older campground with a friendly staff and lots of shade trees. The sites are not real big but do come with concrete pads. We stayed here with 40' rig and it was extremely agressive to get in and park. When we finally got level, the front wheels of the bus had to be off the ground. I liked this park, but if your rig is over 36 feet long I do not recommend it unless you are very experienced with tight spaces.
This was any easy in and out campground for an overnight stay. Sites and facilities were adequate. I would not use it as a destination campground. Staff was not as pleasant and helpful and they should be. I would use it again for a quick stop over.
We stayed in the campground with another couple, who were also in a motorhome, for a week end of June and early July. This is a great campground. Friendly staff, nice facilities. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Nashville area
