I stopped here overnight after 12 hours of driving; I was exhausted. The couple that pulled in right before me got the last spot. The owners took such good care of me though. They parked me in their overflow which was a spot in front of their home. I only needed 30 amp electric so this worked out just fine. It was shady and close to the shower which I desperately needed. When it comes to customer service it doesn't get better. I would stay here again.

I only stopped for overnight but was tempted to stay longer. The customer service I recieved from the front desk was excellent. When I checked in, I heard people having fun in the restaurant and bar: wanted to join them! Nice pool area, the Wi-Fi worked great as well as the cable TV. Once the trees have matured, there will be decent shade I would think. I will stay here again anytime I am in Bakersfield which is my usual stop between Arizona and California.

Good spot to overnight. The owner is a very nice man. Decent space between spots with grass area. Easy on and off freeway, quiet for a good night's sleep. My coffee maker broke, and it would have been nice if coffee was offered in the office, but a restaurant is in walking distance.

If I had not had reserved the deluxe spot with the patio I probably would have turned around upon entrance and gone to park in my friend's yard. My first impression was not a good one, but after staying my overall view is that this is an OK KOA. Decent park, friendly people, quiet. Good place for kids; there is an arcade area inside, mini golf that could use some TLC, dog run area. Pool and adult hot tub, neither of which I used. Would I stay here again, probably not just for the fact I have lots of friends in the area with yards I can crash in.

When I first drove in I didn't think much of it, but once I saw the spot I was given I ended up staying a week instead of 2 nights. The staff was quite nice. Met a lot of very nice people staying at the park. Busy on the weekend, weekdays were quiet and mellow. Good location to see sights, the beach is wonderful. The wi-fi didn't work well at all, I had my aircard which worked fine. I would stay here again.

Location, location, location. What I like best about this park is being able to ride my bike right to the shops & restaurants. No need to get back in the car once you're parked here. Walks on the beach are a great way to start the day. Lots of security here. Everyone seems very happy here, other campers are laid back and friendly. The electric and sewer seem far apart and could use updating. My site was pretty well flooded when I arrived but one call and a group of employees took care of it beyond my expectations. I will stay here again.

You get what you pay for! Ocean Mesa is top notch all the way. The staff are all very friendly, so helpful and just a pleasure to have a conversation with. The grounds & buildings are kept immaculant. I recommend strolling down to the Market & Deli. I will stay here again next time I am in Santa Barbara.

Stopped in at 1 p.m. for an overnight stay. I did not have a reservation but was given a nice back in spot with grass area for the dogs. Debi at the front desk is so friendly! I have found the other people staying here to be equally nice. It is a nice quiet park, just what I needed. Wi-Fi is only free for an hour and you have to sign up for free trail via the site. I have a wireless card so that is not an issue. The cable is great, lots of channels. This is a nice low key park. I would stay here again.

This is a very nice state park. I was there with the Airstream 4 Corner's Unit for the New Year and stayed 6 nights. It was quiet, nice, and dark at night. We reserved the Quail Loop and had it for a total of 22 Airstreams. We enjoyed the ramadas that have electricity and the fire ring got good use. The Rangers and volunteers were very helpful and nice to deal with. The bathrooms/showers were clean; only complaint is that it was cold in there, but luckily the water was good and hot. The sunsets were amazing!

With all the free camping in this area I don't know why you would stay here unless you are addicted to hook ups. The reservations manager Tamara has absolutely no management skills what so ever. She is down right rude and obnoxious. They charge way too much for the RV spots and charge extra for everything else, total rip off. The only good thing about Mormon Lake Lodge was the bartender Tiffany, who is lovely, friendly and has a great personality. But the food was not good and very over priced. My advice is DON'T STAY HERE! Unless you want to be told by Tamara "you have to go to bed at 10 p.m.".

Thanks to this web site I found this park for a 5 night stay. Toward the end of the season for tourism in Durango (I was told) so I had a back in, stream spot with very few "neighbors" for my stay. My site #4 didn't have sewer which was the only down side. The owners/staff were all very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have seen in an rv park. Laundry room was also extremely clean but up the hill and not very convenient. Wifi worked well but tv reception was all but non existant. Enjoyed my stay.

Owners very nice and helpful. Large spots, I was in #4 with a view of the stored rv's (not appealing). Park interior roads were all rock and hard on the pooches paws, but the park backs up to the forest which was a plus. The restrooms & laundry in process of being built and will be a major bonus. If you stay here don't forget to bring OFF or some other mosquito repellent as they were out in force. Relaxed enviroment, was a good spot for a Rally.

Have just arrived from Phoenix, so happy to be near the ocean again and cooler temps. Not sure what the last reviewers issue was to stay 10 minutes and leave. Brenda at the office was very nice when checking in. So far its quiet, nice breeze. Large, back in spot with picnic table, some shade for the dogs. It's all good. I could only get week days because I did not plan ahead but I am just so happy to be back in Mission Beach. As far as the fence goes, hey it keeps the riff raff out and the mobile homes well they aren't so bad and probably worth a hell of a lot this close to the beach.

I am so glad I decided to stay at Dead Horse Ranch. Main reason for my visit was to see Jerome, this park has an excellent location. What I really loved was waking up in the morning and taking one of the many hiking trails that surround the campsites. The sites themselves are spacious. Everyone I met who worked in the park was very friendly and informative. I look forward to my next visit here.

Marianne was very nice to deal with but sadly this park really lacks appeal in appearance. Very small, one little loop is all it consists of. It seemed to be mostly long term residents or at least looks that way. I decided to move onto another spot.

I arrived late in the evening to this park, stayed just long enough to get some sleep. That would be if I had not been put next to the managers trailer and the occupants hadn't turned their car headlights on and off several times shining directly into my trailer. The train noise was very loud, sounding like harleys riding through the park. Very unfriendly place, the residents gave me odd looks. The dog walk area was okay but signs everywhere else in the park telling you to keep pets off grass which I thought was ironic considering there were stray cats everywhere. I would not stay here again.

Woman behind the counter was nice enough. Back-in concrete spot only. Not exactly appealing. The problem was it was 122 degrees. Even with a/c on my Airstream would not cool down, left after 2 hours of sweating. No place to walk the dog, park is all black top which burned the dogs paws. I would not stay here again $38 is way too much for this park.

I will be returning to this park. The staff was very friendly, the sites clean and spacious with shade. Durango is a wonderful town and this is the park to stay at while visiting.

Only reason to stay here over night is if you absolutely can not drive any further. I can't believe they even charge a fee.
