The owners live off property, extremely friendly folks. It is excellent for an overnight. There were a number of back in spots if the pull through sites were taken up.I didn't feel it was run down. The lawns were well cared for and the park was clean. We will be back when we need a spot with electric and water overnight stop.
At $12.50 per night, $300mo this is a super park to base quartz mining. There is only one pull through. Big rigs can easily fit in the spots near the entrance. The perimeter road is paved as are all the sites. Very basic services, but quiet and a peaceful. We have stayed here many times.
Nice overnighter park; easy friendly management, clean, quiet campsites. Gravel roads could use some pot hole filling, but it's better than speed bumps. Sites were long enough for a 36ft plus tow..easily. I'd stay here again.
Very few overnight spots right now. Filled with pipeline workers for local projects. Clean and pleasant. Overhead lines aren't a problem. We didn't use the cable. The area was well kept and the owners were quite friendly. My spousal unit made the trip inside, but one of the owners came out to say 'hi' and check me out. He knows who is supposed to be there. I did not hear freeway noise at all. Most spots would have a problem with Sat, lots of shade. Sites were a little short, but we fit well with a 36ft and jeep. I stay here again.
Clean and divided between overnighters and multiday stays. Pull-thrus are unshaded. Back ins are under the trees. Pull thrus are near local load so others aren't bothered by early departures. Very friendly on-site management. Good gravel and Private lake. My pick for a short term/overnight stay. No seasonals. Wi-Fi from a local truck stop SiriComm reaches campground.
Road could use some work, but isn't the camp's fault. Just a tad difficult to access, but if you had already climbed the mountain to get there what's a bit more? WiFi is extra and only works at gate. Overall a nice large facility. Gravel sites, water is quite far in some and turns can be tight. Showers/Restrooms could use some work.
Difficult for big rigs but doable. Only 1 pull thru site. Waterline was broken but didn't tell us until after we paid. NO refunds. Camp rumour has they are closing the RV side and making it a mobile home park. Mostly seasonals. Gem mine on site is owned by someone else. We wouldn't stay here in future. Too hard to get to with little to show for it.
Like others I expected a noisy place. A weekday night in the off season should be quiet, since it was pouring down rain everyone should be snug in their beds. Nope. Some individual was out puddle jumping in his atv at 11 pm to 1 am. Next day saw the atv...it was a 'workcamper'. Park isn't that bad. the sites are asphalt paved and there is grass. They are very narrow sites, but it's not intended to be a destination. VERY few 50 amp sites. Counting on the map we were given there shows fewer than 20 of those 300+ sites had 50amp. That would be an issue in summer. Yes the hookups are strange. They are set up so that pairs can face each other. The road could use some work and the registration building really could be a bit wider. This is about 8 miles off the freeway, about 3.5 of that on two lane twisty narrow roads, so plan for a daylight entrance. I wouldn't stay here in season or on a weekend ( raceway is part of this park ) but it's ok if Camping World is full.
This is a gravel parking lot with hookups. The hookups are well done. I question the big rig because a 35 ft MH just fits into the back in sites. No pull through sites. Work camper on site. No cable TV even mentioned. Voltage is 127 v and water pressure is 45. Very little grass and what there is is off limits to pets on threat of eviction. LOTS of pet rules. Roads are asphalt sites are gravel and some mud (not horrible, just enough to track into the trailer). Well kept park. Didn't find bath/shower house. Pool closed. Fires only in fire rings: no fire rings. Dock boat at one of the lake side sites. Great for fishermen. Wi-Fi drops out but is OK. A few local eateries nearby. This price in off season doesn't make it. I think I'll pass on this one next time.
Approx 7 sites available for use. Others are year round. Each site is level on good hard packed rock/ground with lots of grass. All are back in. 4 of the sites are quite easy for very long vehicles to back in. Cable TV is $1.25. $20 = 50amp, $18=30amp. NO facilities, nothing to do. In walking distance of minimart. Use as a base camp for crystal mining. Friendly seasonal campers. Management is rarely on site. When there are a nice bunch of people.
The access road does need some work. All esle is gravel and smooth. The pads near the river are cement. Guided to site. Friendly folks and a very peaceful area. Good base camp or over night IF you get there early enough to enjoy the view. Not much boat traffic on weekends. Rating is based on value for what is provided.
Level, if short, spot on loop F. Most people seemed to think that was the entrance road so we got all kinds of traffic day and night. Area around site flooded with a minor rain. Kids 'employees' running all over with golf carts. Sewer connections at the BACK of the lot. Ants had taken over the site. I wouldn't go back here on a dare. Try this, taxi service starts at 10 am. HOWEVER shuttle service on the other side doesn't start until 12. Laser show ends at 10:30ish. Last shuttle runs at 8 pm and Taxi leaves '' after laser show''. Some serious managment problems here. Every employee was polite , no fault there.
Hotels were cheaper at this intersection. Ramada was $33. No posted hotel price was higher than this KOA. Prices are WAY out of line. Pool was good 9ft deep. There is a small hot tub. Facilities were well kept, and yes, there is substantial freeway noise. The sites are level and gravel. They are wide, but little grass. Nice little touches by the staff. If you don't NEED to stop, drive up the road or park at the Walmart across the street. A campground with higher rates than the local hotels is a problem. When I made reservations I was connected with the 13yr old running the desk and he would NOT answer any questions about availability or facilities. WIFi works but at a very low level. High rating is for the facilities and service.
Bus garage noise wasn't that bad. Electric problems were solved after proving there was a problem. Staff was young and not RV savvy. They ran the store everything else was magic to them. Didn't even see a restroom/shower. Level sites but little space. Ok as a base camp.
Located adjacent to the music facility. The campground my not a destination, but the music venue sure is. Simple , level, gravel lots. Room for slides and awnings. FHU nicely done. The sites are a bit short if you have a toad. There is a 6 pax golf cart that shuttles right to where ever you are headed. Walk from the RV park to the venue is 50ft at most. Some pull throus only a very few 40ft+toad sites. Most sites are back in. Reserve what you need. This is everything I would want in a weekend outing.
Nice basic park at a reasonable price. We are 35' and were right on the front and back lines. Forget awnings..way too narrow a site. Sites really need to be leveled. With a DP we can't have the back wheels come off the ground and that is just what it would take to level it. The personnel were friendly and helpful. The difficult individual referenced in previous reviews has moved on. A tour company can take you on a DC tour. it's a small van and there is a lot of walking. Wonderful person driving. Call ahead for reservation to tour as soon as you know when you are going. The road in front of the campground is being turned to a 4 lane. It should be completed July 06, a full 7 months early.
Looks nice on paper and the web site. All sites are paved and one side has grass. Full hookups placed at the back edge of each site(instead of the middle). My Major complaint is most sites aren't even close to level. I can't imagine an RVer was involved in this development. MiniMart staff was pleasant, Showers and restrooms were acceptable. Cable was very limited, but included. Phone is available for $$. The train noise is ALL night long and not subtle. To access park you drive through Semi Parking. It was level and free. If I had to stay here, I park with the trucks. The ingress and egress to the park is badly sloped lowering the passenger's side a great deal. MANY scrape marks from folks coming and going. I won't stay here again. The people fine, but the design is horrid.
Nice little park, bikers welcome. Little road noise. Across from KOA. No pool, but the creek and ponds more than make up for it. Ponds have fish and other wildlife roams the park. A nice path along the creek for a walk. Some sites back up to the creek. Approx 15 pull throughs available. All sites have 30/50 amp, water , and sewer. Utilities are very well placed. Wi-Fi reaches to the farthest corner of the camp. Very little grass in camp. Sites are all pea gravel. Good space in between sites. Laundry has two machines each. Owner is a hands on guy and VERY friendly. Cash or check only. No Credit Cards. Good Sam discount accepted. A handful of long terms that all looked road worthy. I'd go again in a flash.
COE park. Most sites not quite level. Sides observed were paved. Fire rings and cement tables at each site. Electric at all RV sites. Water at some. Dump Station with water. Water available at bathhouses. Clean. Zero services. Boaters can pull boats to within 30 to 50ft of sites in outside ring. Dry county. 14 day max. Fishing is the premier activity. Water is low due to preventitive draining for possible Katrina torrents that didn't arrive. Bring firewood. In the off season, find a spot. Uniformed ranger will pick up fees. Cash or check ONLY in off season.
Most sites need some leveling. 1-6 is best for big rigs. You will have to unhook toads in them. Gravel sites with full hookups. WiFi is pay from a third party. Friendliest hosts yet. This is an excellent spot for overnight at a reasonable price. Price is with GS discount.
The chimeneas are a nice touch. Level sites. Long enough not to have to unhook. Well organized. Spent two nights. Good laundry facilities. Excellent store...a bit of everything. A couple of miles north of I-70 on 4 lane freeway to exit. Lots of add on pricing. Get just what you need. Wi-Fi works well.
This is an excellent example of a County/City park. There is a wide variety of sites from big spacious to small very shaded. This is a fairgrounds that has paved roads. There is little to do unless there is an event going on. We use this park for single overnights or event. A much more pleasant alternative to other parks in the area. Call ahead if you are coming in after hours.
VERY narrow site. Woodalls calls for 50ft. More like 15. You cannot have adjoinging sites with slideouts and/or awnings. Older park , the sites are just 40 ish ft each. Most had toads unhooked to fit in site. Level gravel sites. We were awakened at 4 am by a constantly barking dog...this didn't end. We left at 7 am.
