Price represents PA discount ( Must stay 2 nights to qualify) Very helpful staff and workers. Sites are grass. Having said that they are level and spaced well. Right off interstate but far enough away so that there is no road noise. Will be back when visiting Ocala area.
When I called and they told me they were becoming a KOA I should have known to go somewhere else. Was there 3 yrs ago and loved it. Now the KOA attitude has taken over and they have already stopped caring or maintaining. First gave us a spot that already had someone in it. When I asked for one three spots down the said it was reserved although no one arrived in the three days we spent there. Same with my second request. The one they finally gave us needed mowing and the sewer was real slow. Will not return.
This is our third trip here in the last four years. Always a clean and well kept park. Nothing fancy but very enjoyable. Due to the heavy rains a lot of the park was very soggy but did not keep them from mowing puddled grass. Not much around except the casino but I guess that's why you are here. Be sure to get a players card since you might get your stay discounted or free. Pay for it one way or another. Will return again when we are in the area.
The main reason to stay here is to go to the Casino! That said it is a very well kept resort with good size sites, well maintained, and cheap. Cable reception was good as was internet WiFi and Verizon. Price reflects passport discount and they discount that when you get points on the players club card. The only suggestion I have is that the should spread out the campground occupied sites. With such a large campground why cluster everyone together?
If you don't mind staying in a large parking lot almost under a major highway overpass bridge then this is a great spot. Great view of the city through the bridges. Small grassy spot to walk the dog. Power and water are fine and good over-the-air TV reception on all five stations. Glad the gates are locked at 6:30 since I'm not sure I would feel real safe in this part of town after dark. OK for an overnight stay if you're visiting downtown.
Good campground. Kept clean and well maintained. Close to road and can get a little noisy. The best part about this campground is the management!! They are the friendliest and most helpful couple we have meet. If you are going there to visit the diamond mines the you must stay here so you can attend their classes and ongoing help. The only negative I have is the lack of cable and no off the air TV reception. Will return next time we are in the area.
