This was our first time at this campground and we were very impressed. We've stayed at another campground in the area and it doesn't compare to Keen Lake. The camp store was nice and was open until 11 p.m. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our campsite was a bit of a tight squeeze getting into, but the staff warned us of that. There are a lot of seasonals and a large number of teens running around the campground and "hanging out", but they were not too loud and friendly. All the seasonals sites were clean and well-maintained. It is a nice campground and the only campground we said we would consider getting a seasonal site at.
The park address is Honesdale but it is really in the middle of nowhere about a 10-15 minute drive from Honesdale. If you want to go, see and do things in the area, then you will be driving a lot. We went to Lake Wallenpaupack during the day and spent a lot of time in the car. The staff was very friendly and so were the seasonals. It was a quiet campground. We used the pool and played miniature golf. We stayed in site 35 and it was a tight fit getting the trailers in and out due to other's cars. We were waken in the night and asked to move our car so a Class B could back in to the site diagonal to us. Because of the distance and the musical cars to get others in and out we wouldn't stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at this campsite immensely. The pool is new, enclosed and excellent: the nicest of any campground we stayed at. The playground is fantastic: one of the best we have seen. We stayed in the pull-through sites with the upgraded patio in Sunset Acres. The sites are very nice. We had a great stay for the Labor Day weekend and plan to return to the campsite next year for a week long stay.
This campground is very shaded and quiet though there is not a lot of privacy between campsites. It rained while we were there so we did not get to use a lot of the amenities. The location is conveinient to Boston, Concord and Lexington. We chose this campground because of its proximity to an event we were attending. If we were to return to the area we might consider another campground with greater space between campsites.
We camped here at the end of August and were so impressed with the campground. It's quiet, clean and the staff was very friendly. During the day, the staff was visible: picking up trash and cleaning the campground. We stayed in a pull-through site with the swing and upgraded picnic table. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning.
We camped here for a week to use it as a place to visit the NJ shore and Atlantic City. We arrived on a weekend and the campground was filled. Our site sat nearby the pool, out in the open with little shade or privacy. During the week, the campground was fairly empty. The pool was nice and though they had it locked during the week the staff was accommodating and would open it up for us to use. I had wished our site was in the wooded, more private campsites, but that looked like it was mostly seasonal sites. There were many seasonals at this CG and for the most part they were all well-maintained and friendly.
This campground is nicely wooded, though our site was a bit small and cramped. The pool is nice and we enjoyed swimming. There are some nice walking trails. It is a nice facility but would maybe think twice before returning because we were a bit cramped on our site.
We camped here in the middle of the week and used it as a base camp for seeing the area attractions. We stayed at the sites at the top of the hill and used the pool, which was nice. The campground was pretty vacant so it was quiet. My only complaint was that we camped with my mother (3 adults and 1 child total) and they charged me for an extra adult because they said my mom isn't part of my immediate family. I thought this was a bit ridiculous as it wasn't like we were cramming lots of people onto a site. We had 3 in our immediate family plus my mom for a total of 4 people. I thought it was excessive, especially for $12 a night. Overall, the CG was nice and I would probably return, with my immediate family only.
This campground is not as bad as described in the negative reviews. I was worried as to what it would be like based on reading the reviews so maybe that is why I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we arrived. The campground appeared to be well maintained. The only downfall was that there was not much privacy and the sites are wide open like a grass parking lot. We were by the cow pasture and could get the odor, which the CG cannot be blamed. Overall, this CG is in a convenient location to I-95 and Mystic. Other than using the pool, we just used the CG as a place to sleep as we toured Mystic and the area attractions, so it suited our needs well.
This is truly the best RV park we have ever visited. I am shocked anyone could say a critical word about it. Other campgrounds don't hold a candle to this place! The campground is immaculately clean. The staff is friendly and professional. My only wish is that more RV parks were like this one.
This is a beautiful campground. The sites are well-spaced and you are not crammed into the site and looking directly onto your neighbors. The campground has many sites and it was actually nice to go someplace that is not full of seasonal campers. There were lots of families and tent campers. The campground was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is the only campsite we have ever been to that asked us if we were Good Sam or other discount members. We will definitely return.
Overall this is a great park with lots to do. There are several playgrounds for the children, fishing, a nice walk around the lake and an indoor pool for swimming. Our campsite was beautiful and on the lake. We were told we had a pull-thru site, which was not the case, but it was a great site nonetheless. The other campers were friendly and neat. Some of the seasonal sites are not that attractive. We would return to this campground later in the season when it was warmer and we could use all the amenities.
Even though the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the campground was terrible. It was noisy all day and night, there is little privacy between campsites, and the children's playground is in need of repair. It was like camping in a parking lot with a few trees spread throughout. We could see every neighbor on every side with no seclusion. At night they had karaoke in the activity center, which was extremely loud and could be heard throughout the entire campground. There was no escape. On our way out of the campground we were held up in a line of traffic as some campers got into a fight with the gate attendant. Needless to say, we wouldn't return to the campground.
The campground is quiet and in a beautiful and scenic area. It is very family-friendly with lots of things to do with children. Most of the campsites are taken by seasonals with park models. We enjoyed this campsite very much as there were animals for our daughter to look at and pet, a nice, clean pool, entertainment the entire family could enjoy on Saturday evening and an overall clean park. My only complaint is that our campsite was in the trees and not very level.
