We, if given a choice, would probably not stay again unless it was necessary. The men and women had to share a bathroom due to construction which didn't seem to be happening. There were trains going by at all hours and they were fairly noisy. Any guests who wanted to visit for more than an hour, had to pay a fee! All in all, for the price, definitely not worth it for what you get.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here near the Pt. Cabrillo Light Station. The ocean is just across the street. Campground is well-maintained, but the sites are close together. This time of year, that did not matter as we were one of the few there. Highly recommend camping here. Great location, comfortable.
This park is exceptionally beautiful. Each site feels very private. The grounds are well-maintained. We were there during a major storm and the power was out for 3 days. Even so, we were comfortable. Had a little trouble with internet connection after power was restored, but the park did everything they could to meet our needs. We would definitely stay again!
We rolled in, expecting to "check it out" and stay 1-3 nights. We are so pleased with the cleanliness, the hospitality, the location (near historical sites, winter skiing, and fishing), on-site security, and knowledge of the surrounding area given by the management here, that we have elected to stay a total of two weeks. The campground is quiet even though on highway 49. Sites are well-maintained. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we will return when in the area. Park is under new management and any previous complaints should be disregarded!
