Loved this park. Right in the middle of the redwoods and next to a wonderful park. The sites are easy to access and most have privacy fences made of redwood. Gentleman met us and led us to our site. We asked about a truck wash before leaving for the day to go biking, and when we returned he had the name and address of a truck wash waiting for us. He was a very nice and hospitable manager. This park is about 10 minutes from Santa Cruz and about 25 minutes to San Jose. It was the perfect location for us. (PS: We ate at a recommended spot on the fisherman's wharf called Reva's. Very good food and lively atmosphere. )
When a park requires you to pay in full before you arrive, a red flag should go up. The people are not very nice at all. It's unkept and red dust got into everything. There was a family of 5 RVs there for a reunion and they had a blast. We were happy that most of our time was spent in Yosemite which was still a good 30-minute drive away, just to get into the park. If you can't stay in Yosemite, I guess the best thing you can say about this place is that it's one of the closest parks to Yosemite. The town nearby is quaint. We had great Mexican food at a restaurant on main street and good pizza from the local pizza joint. Good luck.
Very tidy park. Several dog runs around park. The astro-turf didn't bother us at all. It gave the park a nice, well kept look. We were escorted to our space and treated very well. We were given a packet of coupons to use at a local restaurant & casino. We opted to go into Reno instead.
