We stayed two days in Black Mesa State Park, but wish we could have stayed more. The park is beautiful. There was only one other occupied site. It was pleasant to hike the nature trail, do a bit of bicycling, and just relax. Your cell phone won't work, but there is Wi-Fi, at least near the park office. The skies were crystal clear, and there were lots of stars at night. Black Mesa State Park is an undiscovered gem for those who enjoy nature
We stayed here for a week while we toured Santa Fe and the surrounding area. The hosts are very nice, and gave us lots of ideas of things to do and places to go, including the farmer's market where we scored excellent cheese, veggies, and meat. The park is very well maintained, and the showers are excellent -- hot and clean. Although it is on a busy street, the adobe wall provides noise buffering. Nice dog park in the back, and a good pet exercise area at the front of the park. We couldn't be happier with the park.
