The Good: Spotless. Great lake access to both Erie swim beach and inlet (calmer boating / fishing waters). Wonderful programs at Nature Center. The Bad. Spots are tiny. I mean miniscule. Grease your rig before pulling in. Volunteers staff check-in and seem unsure. Upon arrival we were told to go to "B" camp area for potable water. Pulling in and out of super tight, highly populated camp area after dark to find the potable water before winding back out to our own site in "C" area. The next morning we would discover on our own that a huge water station was easily accessible in main dump area. I would expect volunteer at check- in to know this, but it's a minor issue.
Excellent - something for everyone. Very large sites, clean showers, and easy access to Berlin Reservoir for water activities. Excellent playgrounds scattered throughout the park. This is not a "beach" lake with a sandy swimming area. Would suggest it is best enjoyed by boaters, jet skiers, shore anglers. Park Rangers and County Sheriff patrol regularly. Alcohol is prohibited. Common sense and responsible behavior is encouraged. Quiet time at 10 pm is enforced. This is definitely not a "party park." Pet friendly. Nice mix of sites from wooded to wide open.
Easy check in. Wooded area is lovely but tight. Our RV fit nicely but larger units will likely not fit. Pool is beautiful and adjacent restroom/changing area was spotless. There are some "shabby" areas (rusty doors on adjacent patio area) that lower the otherwise very positive impact of a beautiful pool area. Playground is Retro Fun. The 1950's may be missing their merry-go-round. My kids had fun. Seasonal sites vary from spotless to a handful of "Sanford and Son." Seemed a very family friendly "quiet" park. There were a number of fun activities planned with- pig roast and karaoke. The park property was nicely mowed and tidy overall. $30/night for full hookup on a pretty wooded site was very reasonable. If we needed to camp in the area we would stay here again.
