I looked at the other RV parks in this area and Lavaland is by far a better, safer feeling place to stay whether overnight or for long term. Not a lot of I40 noise, ample size for big rigs, slide outs -awnings. Don't use restroom/showers, have own wifi/hotspot, and satellite, but, note that they are available. The new owner was friendly and helpful. Will stay for a month ($200 + elec) before heading to Colorado for the summer.
I think most folks will be surprised to see all the improvements that have been made in this park! It had not been kept up in years past, but, the new owners (transplanted Texans!)have managed to make it pleasant and affordable! Good spacing between sites with 50amp service (I'm camped here in a 26 ft travel trailer) and room for slide outs. While not on the river, they do have river access and a cabin for rent right on the river. They do offer a lot of discounts and are thinking for lowering their rates even further to help build the park back up! Pet friendly, kid friendly and very nice owners! I plan on staying all summer since they do not charge for electricity! Clean restrooms with showers and yummy home style cooking at the cafe with discounts for campers! Although I wouldn't call it a "resort" by RV standards, it is a darn good bargain for the area!
Well maintained and easily accessible campground. Big rigs will have some navigation challenges around a few corners. Great trails to walk dogs on and around campsite. They also provide a natural spring hot tub! I had view of mountains and lake from my site! Town of Safford within 10 miles of campground with plenty of shopping and restaurants available. Drove up Graham Mountain to 9500 ft (without trailer!) and had panoramic views of valleys on both sides! Would stay here again!
Staff have provided a well kept very friendly RV park for long term and overnights alike! They provide personal attention to each guest and provide 110 electric and water services for overflow overnights! Some traffic noise due to location near I-17, but, beautiful mountain views and easy access to casino, Sedona, Montezuma Castle, etc. As a senior, I only paid $360 for a monthly fee including great Wi-Fi service, the lowest and best value in the area! I will be returning for the winter season!
The new loop at this campground affords fabulous lake and mountain views! The sites were easily accessible and level. My disability pass afforded the lower rate and I will be staying here again whenever I pass through the area!
Although the scenery was fabulous, the gnats were absolutely horrific! I had to put cotton in my ears to keep them out and continuously swat them from my face! The sites were level and the campground neat. The salt flats around the area were very interesting. I was there in April, but, due to the pest, will probably not return.
