Wonderful park close to all activities like Mt. Rushmore, Custer SP, Wind Cave NP. We were greeted by the friendly staff all of who are definite assets to this campground. Clean restrooms and showers and easy place for big rigs to maneuver. We would definitely be return campers.
Upon arriving in the late afternoon, we were greeted in the office by the owner of the campground. A totally happy and informative host. She explained everything completely and even told us the best place from the park to watch the fireworks in town. Blueberry muffins and pinon coffee free in the morning before heading out. A nice park that met our needs perfectly. Clean restrooms and showers, level sites, Wi-Fi and easy hookups. We would camp here again.
This is a very nice park. Located in town, close to everything, but very quiet. Level gravel sites, very well taken care of and clean. Staff always maintaining grounds, happy and friendly. Even enjoy some putt-putt golf right on the park grounds. Highly recommend a stay here.
Very nice park. Under new ownership with a very friendly staff. Almost level gravel sites, only used 2" under tires to level. Nice views of mountains, near the gorge area. Great food at JJ's Cafe that is part of the park. Laundry, showers and rest rooms very clean. We would stay here every time in the area.
When registering, no one informed us that the park was partially submerged by high water. We drove down to our site through water across the road. Our site was near the rest rooms and was very muddy, but it had rained not too long before we arrived so we were not that concerned. We left for the day, and when we returned the water was higher. Not really a problem. Next day we left again and when we returned the water was even higher. When we awoke on the third day, the water was higher and it didn't seem to bother the staff as they were still checking people in. The long term campers had been moved to the top of the park but no one had said anything about possible flooding. We checked the weather service, and they had issued a flood warning for 7 to 9 feet above flood stage which would have floated us away. You can understand our concern after the flood that swept away the campers in Arkansas. Will never stay there again. Ads say under new management, but it was the same people that were here the year before.
