Loved this campground. It is actually very similar to Outdoor Resorts in Aguanga however, there is more to do with the lakes. It can be a very relaxing place or you can make it quite active. Its your choice. Staff is very friendly and helpful along with the camp hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
This place gets more and more expensive. However, more and more people are paying the higher prices. I remember 2 years ago, when a beachfront was $60 and now when I called, it is going for $150 per night. Apparently, they base their pricing on demand for the park so, if its busy, you are going to pay. I stay here every other month and I am pleased with the park despite the price. It is in a great area with lots to do. I am going back there this weekend. I had to bite my tongue when I found out how much they are charging.
Not much to this campground. Small store, adults only spa (no pool) and the beach that the CG has a view of. Registration gives you a list of pet rules when you first register to include using ONLY the pet walk area for the dogs. In my opinion, its unreasonable if you have an older dog. If you are far away from the pet area, you need to drive your dog to the pet area. Sites were not level. They were slanted downhill. I have a 36 foot RV and they would not let me park in the larger sites. Instead, my RV had to hang over the cliff. When I wanted to dump my tanks, I had to walk on my neighbors site to dump because the sites were so narrow. No scooters or golf carts allowed in park. The park is constantly patrolled and watched to ensure that all rules are followed. Park has a great view of the ocean. This was not a park for me with 2 older kids who were completely bored out of their mind after the first day. If I was older without kids, I think that I would have enjoyed it better.
We have stayed here numerous times in the past few years. The kids really enjoy it. I do not recommend staying over the 4th of July. It was a struggle to decide how to rate the CG this time. I decided to rate it based upon my previous visits. We ended our trip early because of the following situations: On Sunday got about 3 hours of sleep and so did all my neighbors. They had gang fighting at the beach and police showed up to break it up, teenagers were smoking pot and having sex at the cafe after hours, teenagers were drinking and the security staff could not control the occupants. Also, my teenagers did not want to leave the MH after dark. They had been skateboarding and people came up behind them and tried to trip them while they were skating. Also, they had some kids just walk up to them and try to start a fight. Another parent also had a similar enoounter. The next day we spoke to the staff and they agreed that they themselves would not take their kids to this park on the 4th. They also added that this time of the year, is referred to as hell days. On Monday, we had to move spots and thank the Lord. We moved between two older couples who were mellow and I thought great, I can get some sleep and we can stay here for a couple days. The beach area was a little tense in the afternoon with many occupants getting drunk. Nightfall set in and the park was still sort of acceptable. However, that quickly changed. The yelling and screaming started and continued through the early morning hours. A couple sites down from me, people were getting drunk and other. Then a crowd of adults began forming and the "french" conversations began. I thought that I had seen it all until that happened. That was the nail in the coffin. I got a little more sleep that night. I managed to sleep for a few hours and we left this morning. The staff at Campland were nice and friendly as well as sympathetic. My toad almost got hit twice. The first time was by a bicyclist who was drunk and the second time was by a golf cart with drunk drivers as they tried to race down the street cutting each other off and running into one another. When I told them to watch the car, they kept speeding along flipping me off. The San Diego PD's presence was reassuring however, it was not frequent enough. Also, it seemed that there were not enough secuirty staff present to control the crowds. We would not stay here for the 4th again. However, I am planning in returning back later this summer for a weekend and I expect that the problem that I had enountered will happen once and not repeat itself.
I stay at this park about 6 times per year. The people are friendly and the pads are wide. They have nice landscaping and the park has a nice setting. My wife tells me that I always sleep the best in this park. They hold some activities in their clubhouse on the weekends. They have new owners for their restaurant and the food has improved. It is quite pricey though.
Was in the park for about 30 minutes. The staff was very rude. I got my RV stuck in one of their narrow roads. They gave me a site next to a tree and I almost wrapped my RV around it before deciding that I had enouh and went to stay at Oh Ridge.
Park is expensive but, nice. I visit this park about 9 times per year. They have a wonderful 4th of July celebration and they require a 7 night minimum on those days. Usually the first row is sold out by noon on the day they start to take reservations. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are nice. The view on their bayfronts are wonderful.
The location of this park as compared to other parks like Campland could be better. However, the staff is very nice and the park is nicely landscaped. People at the park are very friendly as well. We keep coming back time after time. Its a great park that I would keep recommending to others.
Long term renters were rude. I walked my dog along the Misti Trail and was greeted by their staff and was told that I was to not allow my pet to eliminate themselves outside of their pet run under NO circumstances. I was told to make them hold it in until I got to the pet run. When I got to the pet run. My dogs did not even want to use it. The stench was very overwhelming and it was awful. If you have a pet do not visit there. They are not very tolerant of nor understanding of pets at all. I will not return.
