We opted for a "shaded" site up on the hill. These sites were absolutely tiny. We could hear every word at the campfires on either side of us. The pool was dirty and totally over run with unsupervised 9-12 year olds. Pay showers only had COLD water and bathrooms were NEVER cleaned the whole weekend. I am shocked that other reviewers liked this CG. It is on a beautiful bike trail in a great part of the state - location, location, location I guess. We will NEVER return.
Campground was in a GREAT location, right on the Root River Bike Trail. Beautiful setting and grounds. Nice restaurant. However, the bathrooms were never cleaned the whole weekend we were there. The showers are pay showers and there was no hot water in either bath house, even during off hours. Full hookup sites had no shade. Pool was dirty with no staff supervision at all, full of kids without adults. We will try a different campground next time we bike the Root River trail.
This campground was extremely well maintained with a super friendly staff. The amenities were great. But, I hated the set up, we were right on top of our neighbors. The sites were super small and there was just a ton of people everywhere we went, especially the pool! The lake is across the busy highway. Woodalls says there is a swimming beach, which it does NOT have. We will not be back anytime soon.
