This campground is nothing but a big parking lot with electric and water hookups, nothing more. Getting to the campground was very easy, and once in there is plenty of room to maneuver. The great part is how easy it is to get into and out of New York City. The Path is very simple and cheap to use to get into and out of the city. If you want to visit New York City this is the place to stay.
The staff is very friendly. The campground is convenient to Greensboro, NC, and I-40, and easy to get into and out of. The problem is the sites are rough; no way possible to get level. The sites are very small. All the sites are dirt, and you have to be careful not to trip over all the tree roots. There are some full timers living there but it is not bad.
I agree with the others, don't let the road up deter you. The campground is very well kept and the views are beautiful. The staff is fantastic and there are some really good hiking trails. The only 2 problems I found were the RV sites. The deluxe sites are not level. They are so far off I ran out of stroke on the leveling jacks. The other problem is the trees. I like trees but I had a choice of being able to put out my slide or being able to put out my awning. The other deluxe sites are the same from what I saw. Next time I will pay extra for a premium site but really one should not have to for a site that is at least level.
