We stayed here 2 years ago and it is even better now than our first trip. Friendly professional staff and everything is extra clean. In our opinion this is pretty close to a perfect RV park. Perfect location for attractions but back far enough from the main roads it is almost like being in the country. Indoor pool, cable was great, bathrooms/showers were very clean.
Perfect park location for many attractions. This was our favorite park campground: l ots of trees and the sites were larger than other campgrounds in the park. Note: No hookups, No Showers, No Cell service.
Location, location, location right in the park however, sites are very close together but you do get water hookup. People do get up early and move out but all and all it was a quiet place. Check-in staff was friendly. They are repairing the damaged electric so next year some sites might have electric again making this a good choice if you want electric. Cell phones won't work at all.
Way overpriced with no sound buffer from the freeway and our gravel site had pools of water from the rain. On the plus side: Staff was nice, Showers/restrooms clean and the Internet worked well. Would probably not stay again.
Nice park located close to Yellowstone. Internet was horrible: 2 hour limit and it was very slow. Park was large, clean, and each site has a paved area with a picnic table. This park seems to stay full even in late September.
Perfect for an overnight stay when traveling. Long gravel sites that were pretty level, with quality Wi-Fi. I agree with other reviewers that the lady in the office wasn't a people person but not really rude. Note: Some sites could be tight turning if traveling in a large rig. Also: if you need dinner, gas, ice etc., stop before this exit as there was nothing else at the exit.
Our site was on the bay with great views of pelicans, herons, and other wildlife. However, it can smell like sewer and dead fish certain times of day. Sites packed in as tight as possible, our car had to be moved so the neighbor across could get his rig out / new one in. People were friendly enough and it appeared a lot of folks stay all winter. (Personally I couldn't figure out why they liked it well enough to stay all winter.) It was cold while we were there and there was no heat in the bathrooms/showers: none at all and it was around freezing. Park was old and not very well kept, which I wasn't expecting. Not really that close a walk to the beach at least a mile or more with a steep bridge in between. Personally I would rather drive 10 minutes to the beach and stay somewhere nicer. But, if you are determined to stay “near the beach” you might be happy enough with the place. Way overpriced for early January. Price was with weekly rate discount.
Each site in the area open in the winter had a gas grill and deck near the lake. During season this would be a great place to go with a nice looking pool, small store and all the Stone Mountain attractions nearby. However, in the winter it is overpriced for what you get. We were told bathrooms were heated but, they weren't heated for our comfort maybe 40 Degrees tops. At $40 a night off season they could splurge and have a heated bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Seemed safe and secure since anyone entering the park had to pay $10. Nice park and we would return in better weather.
We only stopped for an overnight stay so we didn't really see much of the park. About 8 miles from I-75 however: you had to pass through a not so nice area to get there (not the parks fault). Restrooms were clean, Park ranger was friendly and sites were private. Would consider a return visit. Nice State Park.
Top notch newer campground. Had nice paved sites with new landscaping. Lots of Class A’s, staff was pleasant and professional; restrooms were very clean and modern. Priced higher than some in the area but, perfect location if you are planning on seeing attractions. (Be sure to save a day to see Dollywood it was much nicer than we expected). Wi-Fi worked great.
I really have mixed feelings on rating this park. Based on their website and other reviewers I expected the nicest campground “resort” I had been too. Lots of renovations have taken place however, the pool was way too small for the size of campground at least in the busy season, and some site locations/size are much better than others. Stay away from sites with walkways beside them. Based on the other campgrounds in the area this is by far the best choice. The sites in the club castaways section did have paved sites, (no paved sites in the regular area) a very small pool and a nice view of the bay. Good location: just a few miles from both Ocean City and Assateague Island (must see the beautiful Ocean Front National Park). Wi-Fi and cable TV worked fine all week.
A very clean campground, with friendly owners who take pride in keeping it that way. Mostly gravel pads and roads. We stayed up on the hill so it had a great view to watch the sunset and sunrise. Self contained units only: no bathrooms here. Perfect campground for adults: nothing for kids to do, and didn't see any kids here. Located very close to many Amish attractions. Great place for adults to stay when visiting the area if you are just looking for a low key clean, safe place without many extras. No cable TV, Wi-Fi with a good signal. ATT cell phone didn't work well but our Sprint phone did.
We had a spot on what they called a river. You could walk across so it wasn't very deep (great for kids to play in looked pretty clean). Sites were small but some were shaded. The campground was gravel roads and older but was kept in decent repair. Showers/Restrooms were a little older but the ones we used were pretty clean and there was plenty of hot water. Friendly staff and all in all an OK place to stay for a couple nights. They had a newer large bar restaurant in the back area that we didn't have the chance to use. Internet didn't work the 2 nights we were there and the cable was out for part of our stay. If we went to the area again we would stay there again.
Nice newer or redone? Campground pretty, near Amish Country attractions. Clean looking indoor pool great for chilly days. Modern nice shower houses with hot water. Spots were not shaded anywhere in the park but, it was all paved and clean which is a plus. Some nights they offer horse and buggy rides through the campground fun thing for the kids. Staff seemed friendly. We suggest staying in the part of the campground away from the road as we did hear some road noise from our spot. They try to keep this campground clean and nice, staff was friendly.
