Very adequate campground. Rustic and a little rough around the edges but otherwise certainly more than worth the price of admission. Our site (#28) was shown as a pull-thru but that was innacurate; upon arrival at the site we had to back in up an initial steep grade; entire site had moderate slope back to front but level side to side. Don't arrive after dark if you can help it. Site required a fair amount of clean-up upon arrival. Trash in fire ring, cigarette butts littered throughout the campsite, etc. Interior roads are well graveled but at night could be tough to feel your way around if you're not familiar. Sites are gravel and most need freshening up but otherwise were reasonably level. Utilities were located at the wrong end of our site. Extra 50 amp power cord & hose was needed to reach from the power and water hookup to the rear of our camper. Very efficient, friendly and helpful staff at check-in. Several long term permanent RV's with the usual indigent long term stuff scattered around the outside of the RV's giving a poor visual impression of what could be a very nice rustic little campground. We will stay here again. The long termer's sites & their RV's need to be cleaned up or run out altogether. I got the impression the campground was planned and laid out by someone who know's little or nothing about RV'ing. JMHO.
Pretty hard to improve on perfection. Very nice campground. It is big rig friendly. Visual appearance of campground is nice. It has very nice management and easy on/off I-75. A nice place for a one night stop or over a long weekend.
Very nice campground. Interior roads need minor grading and fresh gravel. Entrance road steep but navigatable. Very good gravel on sites but gravel bed should be 2 feet wider to accommodate entering and exiting sites. Dumpster area in desperate need of litter control. Overall visual appeal of the campground is very nice with many deer active in the area. Very nice management. I would definitely return.
Nice CG, nice staff, nice pull through sites. Sites are in need of fresh gravel and some basic landscaping. Electrical 30 amp and 50 amp connection poles were separate: a bit odd. Cash or check only, no credit cards or discounts. Most nice.
Campground is in a state of serious overall neglect. Interior roads and all sites are in dire need of fresh gravel and basic landscaping. As you enter, the entire left side of the CG is made up of derelict RV's that are inhabited by long term, indigent residents. Exterior appearance of the shower and restroom building is reason enough not to enter. CG is physically located below elevated exit off I-81 resulting in interstate traffic noise and trucks jake braking to slow on the exit. Staff was courteous and pleasant.
We were here 5 days. If you need a place to stay overnight passing through Chattanooga it's an "ok" campground, it's close to Chattanooga and the price is what you'd expect for what you get. Sites are close together, landscaping is tired and worn out, and interior roads and sites are gravel that need freshening. Little to no management supervision. Under age children are permitted to drive golf carts routinely through the campground creating a hazard to themselves and to patrons. Large vicious breed dogs are supposedly not permitted, but were seen being walked by their owners throughout the campground throughout our stay. If you book a group, don't expect to arrive with your group camped together. If you're passing through it's ok, but we wouldn't spend any length of time here again.
Grossly overpriced. Sites are narrow and packed in but level and reasonably well manicured. Most water connections are ground level. Convenient to Biltmore with easy access to I-40 & I-26. 10% discounts are offered for various associated RV and auto clubs. If all you're looking for is a place to stop overnight to take in Biltmore, it's an ok campground. For more than one night, I'd look elsewhere. A MH or 5'er over 36' will be a tight fit. Due to the ridiculous rate, Bear Creek is no longer our 1st choice in campgrounds convenient to Biltmore and the Asheville area.
Friendly employee at check-in. All pull through sites. Sites are in need of regravel and TLC attention. Standing water and mud between all sites after a rain storm. Very poor drainage. On Saturday morning at 8am, a surly CG employee presented himself to our RV group smoking a cigarette looking for one of our group's late check-in from the night before. Good location, level sites, interior roads are ok. Good place to stay while seeing Chattanooga. No place you'd want to stay long term for the price of admission.
