This place looks nicer on the website than it does in reality. The sites were fairly tight and the permanent residents were not well maintained. They had a dog park but there were thorns there as well as thorns that blew in from the desert on the road. They had a rule against "dog pens" but we saw several residents with dog pens (they seemed like some of the permanent ones). We could not get their Wi-Fi to work, nor our Verizon to work. This place is well outside of town but has trains that go by all hours of the night. We will not be back.
We stayed here in a 45' RV and originally didn't consider the state park as an option because they generally don't take larger RVs. Our site was plenty large and it was probably one of the easiest places to maneuver. Our Verizon Wi-Fi worked really well. Lots of trails to walk dogs. No sewer connections so we used their shower and they were very clean. Just outside of the park is a new marketplace with restaurants, WalMart and other shops. If you ride a bike, this area is one of the better areas in Tucson to ride. You can only stay 2 weeks, but it would be nice if they offered a pumping service.
This park has all gravel sites, and if it gets windy everything gets a good dusting. Sites are very tight together so you are on top of your neighbor. They alternate the direction, so if you like your facing neighbor that is good. Nice warm pool that sees plenty of use and they have lots of activities. For dogs they have a dog run but they also allow access to the desert area outside of the park, and our dogs had great fun chasing jackrabbits. Earlier reviewers mentioned sewer smell. We found there was some, but I also believe we are smelling some of the ranch smells from the area (cattle, horses). We would stay here again for a night or so, but not for an extended stay.
We parked here in the section out front which seems to be the place for people staying a few days or a week. It would have been nice to have a picnic table in this area. We were parked right next to the garbage cans where all the residents in the area placed their garbage. It isn't that hard to place a garbage area that isn't so obtrusive. Even though it wasn't that hot, it got stinky. Amenities are nice, the gym was well equipped and people seemed friendly. Easy for us to move our big RV into the site.
This is a great RV park. It is close to Ennis and all the area has to offer (Madison River fishing). There is an excellent restaurant right outside the park. The sites are level; sites and road are gravel with grassy areas between. Wi-Fi is strong. The bathrooms and laundry facilities are clean. The hosts are nice. It is dog friendly. There is also an excellent mobile RV repair technician who is close by; we had him service our Aqua Hot while we were there. We stayed a month and will definitely return.
This is by far one of the best facilities we have stayed at. The place is beautiful. The sites are concrete, level, wide, and have grass areas between sites. Our site was extra long - we have a 45' Motorhome and could have put another 45' RV behind us. The entire park is easy to navigate. If you were traveling with friends they have buddy sites so you can face each other. The hosts were friendly and professional. It is everything their advertising says. We have dogs and they have a dog wash which we used; it was great! The only downside is that it is next to I5 and has traffic noise and there is railroad traffic that goes through town. I would stay here again if we ever go this way again.
This is a nice park which is accessible to large RVs. There is not a sewer connection at the campsite, but there is a dump that you can use. There are no showers but the restrooms were cleaned daily. Other than very large speed bumps as you enter the RV section of the park, the access is good: pavement and wide lanes. The park is clean and if you have dogs plenty of areas to walk your dogs (on leash). An off leash dog park is just down the road. The park is quiet at night. Compared to other parks in the area, this is a nice place to stay. We stayed a week.
This is my favorite RV park. It is clean, spacious and the people are friendly. We have dogs and this is their favorite place as well. They have walking trails and an open area for them to run. The bathrooms are spotless, the pool is clean and the wireless works. Gravel sites and in our site we didn't even need to level. We were here in a 45' motorhome which isn't easily accommodated in many places, but we had no issues with parking our coach. This is our third visit and we will definitely be back.
I will NEVER return to this park. There are few sewer hookups and seem to be all taken by the full timers. I wouldn't put their tap water in my tank and normally this region has very good water, so I believe it is their pipes. The showers and restroom are the DIRTIEST I have ever seen. Not cleaned in over four days - mud on the floor, waste paper on the floor. The park has some people who live here full time. I've seen the Sherriff out talking to them twice in the last three days. Rules are completely ignored - people drive fast (and yes it is dusty), a few dogs run off leash, beer cans left all over one site. My security software sent out warnings when I tried to attach to their Wi-Fi (not seen that happen before). Having said that, I have met some nice people here, and they were all saying the same thing - "Won't return". They must get only new business because I can't understand why anyone would return.
