One of our favorite parks. Many miles of hiking trails. Restrooms are clean. Many sites are secluded with vegetation separating you from your neighbors. Make reservations early in the summer as the park fills up fast.
Sites are tight as are most Michigan state campgrounds. Lakeside sites are extremely small and very windy. We moved from a lake front site when the winds approached 40 mph with no storm present. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again but would rather stay at one of the smaller rustic campgrounds if they are available.
We stayed here on a visit to area caves. Very clean park. Modern and clean restrooms and showers. Not every site has a picnic table. Has community fire rings. We were the only popup in the park. It's occupants were mainly big 5th wheels and class A motor homes. Our stay was pleasant but we did hear the train about every 3 hours. I would stay here again.
