This is a very nice campground set amongst huge eucalyptus trees. We stayed at site #8 which is one of the full hook up sites. Everything is very clean and tidy, the showers are just fine. In our opinion, one mayor downside to this campground is that the gate that is 2.5 miles from the campground shuts at 10 pm. you can get out, but you cannot get in (tire shredders stop you from coming in through the exit) We were hoping to enjoy a bit of the nightlife in the surrounding towns, but could not because of the gates closing at 10 pm. Although this is a very nice campground, we would not stay here again, but for anyone that does not mind the gates being locked at 10 pm, we would recommend it.
Our price was based on a AAA / Good Sam rate. (Normal price was $25.) This is a "No Thrills" campsite, conveniently located in Eureka. Everything they offered was good, including the WiFi. The (2) showers were just fine, hot enough with good pressure. We were on a fully paved site near the road, but we did not have any problem with noise. There is a Safeway and a Walgreens in walking distance, and it is about 10 minutes drive to the center of downtown Eureka. The "Camp Hosts" were very kind and gave us free tickets to the "Stock Car Racing" at the fair ground, which we really enjoyed. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
Our price was based on the Passport America rates. Lovely small campground just 20 spots. Friendly owner, very clean grounds, clean and spacious bathrooms and smack bar. In the center of town and just an easy 10 min. stroll to the lovely beach, 3 min. to a 24 hour supermarket and various restaurants, but away from the traffic, so no noise. Our site was level, with good water pressure, Wi-Fi and cable TV. If we ever pass through Gold Beach again, this will definitely be our first choice of Campground.
This is a very nice campsite, with very spacious sites, and the whole campground is very clean. We did have Verizon reception for our Mi-Fi but no AT&T phone reception. The one mayor downside to this campground are the mosquito's, and there are lots of them. This is not a complaint, but a warning, if you stay here go prepared with bug spray. We did not fish in the nearby river, but we did see some of the catches made by others, and they were impressive, so if you like fishing it is an ideal spot. We did visit the Caverns, but they were so busy, with a 2 hour wait we gave them a wide berth. Due to the mosquito's, we would probably not stay here a second time.
Our price was based on the weekly rate. We give this campsite full marks, this does not mean it's perfect, but rates excellent on everything we find most important. The owners make you feel at home here without "over doing it" and are very helpful. The restrooms were clean and the showers were great, loads of pressure and HOT! Our spot had excellent Wi-Fi reception, they also had a direct modem plug in the TV room. The washing machines and dryers were great. There is no TV, but to compensate this, there is an excellent and large choice of DVD's to choose from completely free. They also do not mind you washing your rig here, and actually told me I could park our truck on the grass and give it a wash. The site is just 1 mile from Bozeman, which is a nice town to explore. The owners of this campsite obviously enjoy running their campsite, and this really shows. We would definitely stay here again.
I do not believe in posting purely negative remarks about a campsite, and luckily there is (usually) always something good about any site. But this KOA gets the prize for being the worst in North America, and possibly the world. Just like some previous reviewers mentioned, the people that run this campground are arrogant, rude and stuck up! We should have realized that there was something wrong when we went to pay for our reserved site. 3 people were being helped. One couple was complaining they had pre-booked a 30amp site and they only had 20 amp sites on swampy wet un-levelled site. The second woman was complaining about sewer smell and sewer had been dumped on their swampy wet site; and the third person was complaining about the internet, or rather, the lack of internet. We had trouble getting onto our site, it was a grassy unlevel site with just electric, the site was on a slope, and was very wet and boggy, and just like the person in the office, the previous camper had obviously just dumped their sewage and left. Turns out there is NO dumpstation on the grounds. There was absolutely no WiFi, not even in the office, and they had issues with the pool and hotpool so they were closed. When I went to the office to ask if we could be moved because of the sewer smell, I walked in on an argument between the owner's wife and a group of people, 2 families had booked 2 cabins online next to each other, but when they arrived they were put into two cabins nowhere near each other, and the owner told them if they didn't like it, they could leave. When I nicely mentioned there was no WiFi she barked at me, saying it was a free service, and I had to deal with it. So I pointed out to her that it was not a free service, that it was a service included in the $45 I was paying. Now it was my turn to be told that if I did not like it, I could leave. Which we did. Leaving this campsite was the best thing that happened to us that day.
Like others pointed out, the site was not very level, luckily we had enough blocks to prop up our trailer on one side, and the sewer was quite some distance from the the rest. The restrooms are delightful and clean, and the people in the office were pleasant. The WiFi was Free for 72 hours, and was OK. (We did have trouble with our MiFi not getting a strong signal.) We stayed here for 2 weeks, and enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if in the area.
The spots are VERY tight and VERY narrow. But we knew and expected this before we arrived (we did some research.) So we are not going to complain about it. Our rating is based on the conveniences of this park. The restrooms were clean, has excellent water pressure in the showers, and the water was hot. The washing machines and dryers were good machines. You can walk to restaurants and a supermarket and a pharmacy. The park is just a mile from the "Park & Ride" which costs $5 return p/p to Seattle. The WiFi was just OK, good for checking Email, however it dropped at least every 20 minutes. So we spent most of the time on our MiFi. If we were to visit Seattle again, we would definitely stay here again.
This campsite has a lot of potential because it's nicely situated on the river and just 5 miles from Tillamook. Our spot was near the office and was paved and level with full hookups. Because we were near the office, we had good WiFi reception. There are lots of (run down) permanent trailers stationed on the sites, that sadly gives this campsite a rundown look. The reason we give this campsite a low rating of 6 is because of the restrooms. The restrooms are absolutely disgusting! I had one shower here, which cost a quarter for 6 minutes which is a good price, the water was warm and good pressure, but the shower and the toilets were absolutely filthy. I don't mean dusty, I mean moldy, empty cans of beer and chewing tobacco, dirty clothes, etc. If the owner of this campsite would invest in cleaning and fixing both the mens and ladies restrooms, this would be a very nice campsite.
Our $13 rate was our Passport America Rate which they accepted without any problems in August. The campsite is very nice, the "Riverfront" sites are really nice and spacious and at a very reasonable price of $31. However we did not stay on the riverside, but our spot was spacious. The campsite is ideally situated about a mile off of the main road between Newport and Lincoln City. The campsite is quiet, and the people in the office are very friendly. Although we are on a river, I have yet to see a bug which is a welcoming break. The free WiFi is OK, it's fine to check emails and do some basic surfing, but it does drop on a regular basis. There is only ONE shower for the gents, and the water is slightly warmer than cold. If you like fishing and boating, then this is definitely a campsite for you. All in all I would definitely stay here myself again.
Owner (one of 2 brothers) is very friendly and welcoming with a great sense of humor ( needed when dealing with me). Although the campsite is just off the highway, we could not hear any traffic (we were on #4). We have a small 20' travel trailer and had plenty of room to move around. Good sewage connector, cable TV, and Wi-Fi. The bathrooms were clean, and there is an excellent laundromat with 4 washing machines and dryers. There are a couple of cabins, and a clean swimming pool The days we stayed here (3 nights) were lovely sunny days, but there were thunderstorms in the evening that were fantastic to watch, creating stunning sunsets. There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance, but we never made use of them. All in all a good experience.
